The Clinical Nutrition Manager plays a vital leadership role, overseeing patient-centered nutrition care while managing a skilled team of clinical dietitians and support staff. This position ensures the delivery of evidence-based medical nutrition therapy within long‑term care and hospital settings, aligning with guidelines such as the Nutrition Care Process and EMR protocols. ???? Location:462 Grider Street Buffalo, NY ???? Department: Terrace View LTC ???? Shift: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (no more 13 hour days, overnights, or working holidays!) Job Duties • Assists the Clinical Nutrition Services Director in managing operations of the Clinical Nutrition Services Department, • Supervises clinical nutrition operations, quality metrics, and clinical practice advancement, • Hires new associates, administers corrective action, conducts evaluations of team members, • Integrates business initiatives and quality practices into daily operations to improve outcomes, • Develops, implements, and updates nutrition care policies, procedures, and institution-specific practice guidelines, • Leads quality improvement and patient safety initiatives in line with accrediting standards, • Oversees provision of medical nutrition therapy and the nutrition care process: screening, assessment, diagnosis, intervention, monitoring, evaluation, education, and menu processing, • Manages clinical team schedules, staffing models, and budget adherence with cost-control measures, • Addresses nutrition-related questions and concerns from patients, families, community members, and health professionals using evidence-based practices, • Coaches, mentors, and evaluates team members; facilitates professional development and job satisfaction, • Promotes interdisciplinary communication and cooperation with hospital administration, medical, nursing, allied health, and foodservice staff, • Coordinates dietetic intern and student scheduling; serves as preceptor and oversees internship programs, • Collaborates with corporate, state, and national healthcare professionals and networks, including benchmarking and conference participation, • Ensures compliance with all regulatory standards, including federal, state, accrediting agencies (e.g., The Joint Commission), HIPAA, and patient rights policies, • Develops and communicates strategic plans and aligns department goals with hospital-wide objectives Qualifications Education: • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food/Nutrition Science, or closely related field required; Master’s degree preferred, • Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential, with relevant state licensure., • Minimum 5 years of clinical nutrition experience in a hospital or long‑term care environment., • Proven leadership, team management, and communication skills, • Familiarity with EMR systems, nutrition care process, quality improvement frameworks, • Strong organizational and multi-disciplinary collaboration skills suited to long-term care operations.
