Job Description Our organization is in search of a dedicated and skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to become a vital member of our anesthesia team. The CRNA will play a crucial role in administering anesthesia, monitoring patients' vital signs, and ensuring a smooth recovery from anesthesia. The ideal candidate will exhibit a strong sense of independence, clinical proficiency, and a dedication to delivering exceptional patient care. Shifts may vary between 8, 10, and 12 hours. Key Responsibilities:Pre-Anesthetic Assessment * Perform comprehensive pre-anesthetic evaluations, which include gathering patient history, conducting physical examinations, and reviewing diagnostic information. * Formulate and discuss anesthesia care plans with both the anesthesia team and patients. Anesthesia Administration * Administer various types of anesthetics, such as general, regional, and local anesthesia, following established protocols. * Monitor patients throughout surgical and medical procedures, adjusting anesthetic levels as required. * Oversee and manage patients' airways, ensuring adequate ventilation and oxygenation. Intraoperative Care * Continuously track patients' vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation. * React swiftly to any changes in patient condition, implementing appropriate interventions. * Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Post-Anesthetic Care * Deliver post-anesthesia care, focusing on pain management and monitoring patients during their recovery. * Ensure a safe transition for patients from the operating room to the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) or other recovery areas. * Educate patients and their families on post-operative care and recovery processes. Documentation * Thoroughly document all aspects of anesthesia care, including pre-anesthetic evaluations, anesthetic administration, intraoperative management, and post-anesthetic care. * Maintain detailed records of anesthesia-related procedures, medications administered, and patient responses. Compliance and Safety * Comply with all federal, state, and institutional regulations and guidelines pertaining to anesthesia practice. * Engage in ongoing education and professional development to remain updated on best practices and emerging trends in anesthesia care. * Participate in quality improvement initiatives and foster a culture of safety within the healthcare environment. Qualifications: Education: A Master's or Doctoral degree in Nurse Anesthesia from an accredited institution. Certification: Current certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) from the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA). Licensure: Active RN and APRN licensure in New York State. Required Experience: Experience in providing anesthesia care across various surgical and procedural environments. Skills: * Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities. * Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented setting. * Proficiency with anesthesia equipment and monitoring systems.
