We’re currently seeking Banquet/Event Captains to join our on-demand hospitality and event operations team in New York, NY. Job Summary Step into leadership with Golive! Staffing. As an Banquet/Event Captain, you’ll lead front-of-house teams across luxury banquets, catering events, fine dining venues, and large-scale hospitality settings. You’ll be the point of contact for both clients and staff, ensuring seamless execution from planning to breakdown. This role is ideal for hospitality professionals with strong supervisory experience who thrive in fast-paced, high-profile environments. What We Offer • Competitive Pay: Earn $32-36/hour at select events., • Ultimate Flexibility: Pick shifts that work best for your schedule—mornings, evenings, weekends, or even overnights., • Fast, Convenient Pay: Receive your pay weekly via direct deposit or paper check., • Team Leadership: Direct, delegate, and motivate staff during fast-paced events; ensure high standards of service are consistently met, • Client Communication: Act as the main point of contact for clients, addressing questions, special requests, or changes before and during events, • Event Oversight: Manage all aspects of banquet or catering execution from setup to breakdown, ensuring BEOs (Banquet Event Orders) are followed precisely, • Problem Solving: Handle last-minute changes, staffing shortages, or unexpected challenges with calm professionalism and clear solutions, • Staff Development: Support, train, and guide servers and FOH staff; ensure seamless teamwork throughout the event, • Service Standards: Maintain five-star, white-glove service standards; ensure wine service, dietary needs, and fine dining protocols are executed flawlessly, • Scheduling & Delegation: Build staff schedules, assign roles based on strengths, and monitor progress throughout the shift, • Conflict Resolution: Address team or client conflicts quickly, maintaining professionalism and keeping the event on track, • Client-Facing Leadership: Communicate clearly and confidently with clients during intake, execution, and event wrap-up, making final executive decisions as needed, • Operational Knowledge: Demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing, and executing Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) What We’re Looking For • 3+ years of supervisory or management experience in food service (fine dining, 5-star/Michelin, or high-volume banquet preferred), • Proven ability to run shifts independently without additional supervisors, • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-first approach, • Reliable, professional, and detail-oriented, with a track record of delivering seamless events, • Catering, banquet, or large-scale event leadership experience preferred but not required We Celebrate Diversity Culinary Staffing Services DBA GoLive!
