Completes insurance and/or disability forms, precertification and/or authorizations, point of care testing, transcribing orders, or order entry (protocol). May be assigned to assist with bump lists, wait lists and appropriate WQs. May make appointments, including follow-up appointments for patients in a high customer service environment in an efficient and timely manner across the healthcare continuum including physician office visits, imaging, and lab post-visit and during patient outreach. Performs and documents in a timely and efficient manner patient outreach and call backs for messages received in pool, MyChart messaging and confirmation calls. May administer vaccines and documents appropriately and in accordance with established policies. May collect specimens and handles per establish protocols including proper labeling and safety handling. Assists physicians/providers with monitoring and reporting lab results. File all reports, labs, radiology reports and miscellaneous correspondence in EMR and attaches results to appropriate orders. May obtain prior authorization for medications, procedures, and testing. Successfully communicates with multidisciplinary team members and patients upholding our Mission, Vision and Values and adhering to Code of Ethical conduct. Maintains working knowledge of regulatory standards and is accountable to sustain these standards in daily operations. Requires flexibility and the ability to multitask in a face paced environment and adjust to the patient volume. May be asked to work at other Ambulatory offices based on volume. Other duties as assigned by the manager. Experience Required Minimum one year of recent experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant and/or documented evidence of externship completed in a medical office. Electrocardiogram (EKG), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injection experience. Epic experience preferred. Excellent organizational, written/verbal communication and teamwork skills. Demonstrated performance of excellent customer service skills. Education Requirements High School Diploma or Equivalent required. License/Certification Requirements Graduate of a post-secondary medical assisting education program accredited by NJAC(13:35-6.4) approved certifying body AND current certification from a recognized certifying board approved by NJ Board of Medical Examiners. Job Description The Diagnostic Imaging and Radiology Service is critical to the lifesaving work we do at the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center, providing timely diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment planning of diseases in companion animals. As a Diagnostic Imaging technician, you'll operate our computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines to obtain quality images for our radiologists and other board-certified specialists across the hospital. Diagnostic Imaging technicians work together as a team to provide the highest quality care to our patients. While one technician is scanning and capturing images, another technician functions as a primary anesthetist and monitors the patient. Our technicians are excellent communicators and collaborators who work with multiple departments at AMC and coordinate multiple imaging procedures each day. We also occasionally get special visitors from local zoos and aquariums that require our advanced imaging services to better help the animals in their care. Job Description The Schwarzman Animal Medical Center is seeking an ABVP or ACZM board-certified or board-eligible veterinarian to join our Avian and Exotic Pet Service as a full-time clinician. The Avian and Exotic Service at AMC provides 7-day/week veterinary care for a varied caseload of approximately 2,600 animals/year comprising birds, small mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and some fish. The clinician will join a service consisting of one full-time ABVP board-certified veterinarian (Reptile and Amphibian Practice), 2 part-time ABVP board-certified veterinarians (Avian Practice), and 1 per diem clinician. The Service also includes 2 house officers (2 specialty interns or intern/resident), 4 full-time and part-time technicians, 4 full-time assistants, and 1 service coordinator. Clinical and Service Responsibilities In a 4-day work week, clinical responsibilities consist of daily clinical appointments, inpatient care, clinical procedures, and consulting on walk-in emergency cases. You will share oversight and training of house officers in avian and exotic pet medicine and surgery and in the training of general rotating interns. As a Level 1 Trauma Center, the AMC Emergency and Critical Care Department provides 24-hour emergency service. No on-call emergency duty is required. The Avian and Exotic Pet Service is fully integrated with other services at the AMC and works in close coordination with other specialists to provide optimal patient care. Employed by PAGNY for The Division of Correctional Health Services (CHS) of New York City Health + Hospitals (H+H) is responsible for the delivery of medical care, mental health care, and discharge planning in the jail system. Approximately 25% of new admissions per year to the NYC jail system will receive care on the mental health service. This service strives to provide safe, holistic and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for the diverse range of mental health issues that face the population, from serious mental illness to the natural struggles that accompany incarceration. The service provides some of the most comprehensive and unique treatment modalities in the country, including specialty housing units for individuals with serious mental illness, a 24-hour on-call psychiatric service, robust creative arts programming, a strong DBT training program, clinics in each of the facilities, substance use treatment, integrated re- entry services, and relationships with multiple training institutions throughout the city. Staff physicians provide primary care to patients in jail-based clinics, perform intake evaluation and treatment and provide emergency care with the support of Emergency Medicine physicians. The healthcare system is a single-payer system that requires no physician time dedicated to billing. No administrative work is expected outside of work hours, promoting career/life balance. Physicians work as part of a care delivery team with strong administrative support staff, integrated nursing and mental health. Responsibilities: • Completes comprehensive histories and physicals on all new admissions., • Diagnose and treating acute and chronic illness, • Evaluates the need for consult services and submitting the prioritized consult when indicated, • Reviews all on island/off-island specialty consult clinic and hospital returns., • Evaluates the recommendations to ensure that the standard of care is met and implements the recommendations of the consultant, • Responds to emergencies and fire drills on a priority basis and in a timely and professional manner, • Be familiar with performance indicators (P.I.) and taking appropriate measures to comply with these standards, • Requests radiology exams, lab-tests, and EKG’s when indicated and interpreting these results in conjunction with the patient’s clinical status, • Notifying Urgicare for 3 hour/EMS runs, • Generates medical modifications as needed, • Maintains clinical competency by reviewing CHS protocols, current medical literature and C.M.E.’s, • Provides clinical supervision for P.A.’s/N.P.’s which includes co-signing of notes and medication orders, • Ensure that standard of care is maintained, • Adhere to policies and procedures of CHS and be familiar with them by reviewing them as needed, • Attends all mandatory in-services Schedule: Full-Time, Float Qualifications • Registered to practice medicine in the State of New York and have Federal DEA, BCLS or ACLS, and Infection Control Certification, • Medical Specialty License or Certification, • Board certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty, • 3 to 5 years of directly related experience, which include residency in a directly related medical specialty., • Competitive compensation package, • Choice of a three tiered, starting at FREE medical plans starting day one, • Excellent dental insurance, • Generous paid time off program, • Eligibility for loan forgiveness through the National Student Debt Forgiveness Center, • Visa candidates are considered, • Occurrence-based Medical Malpractice policy coverage, • Salary: $205,000 - $215,000 annually
