Job Description The Power Device Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and calibrating power medical devices to ensure their safety and functionality. The technician will work with a wide range of medical equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory guidelines, and manufacturer specifications. • Diagnose and repair malfunctions in power medical devices, including but not limited to surgical instruments, and other electrically powered medical equipment., • Perform routine preventive maintenance, calibration, and performance checks to ensure devices meet safety and operational standards., • Document all inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities accurately in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements., • Test and verify the safety and functionality of repaired equipment using specialized tools and diagnostic software., • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and facility staff to address equipment concerns and provide technical support., • Maintain an organized workspace, inventory of tools, and replacement parts needed for repairs., • Stay up to date with advancements in medical device technology, repair techniques, and industry standards., • Adhere to all workplace safety guidelines, regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO standards), and company policies., • Education: Associate degree or certification in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field. Equivalent experience may be considered., • Experience: 2+ years of experience in the repair and maintenance of medical devices, with a focus on power-driven equipment preferred., • Technical Skills:, • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams., • Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools, soldering, and calibration equipment., • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems., • Familiarity with regulatory standards for medical devices (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485)., • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities., • Strong communication skills for interacting with healthcare staff and team members., • Attention to detail and organizational skills., • Work may involve exposure to biohazards and electrical systems.
