American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in San Bernadino, California. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 10/13/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Position is in the ICU of an acute care hospital, • ICU with 44 licensed beds, currently using 36, • Patient ratios are 1:2 or 1:1, • Nurse-to-patient assignments exclude fresh open heart or craniotomy patients, • Common cases include cardiac, PCI, open heart, sepsis, stroke, CABG, stents, balloon pumps, cath lab, and craniotomies, • 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun) required, • No self-scheduling; fixed shift times 0645-1915 / 1845-0715, • Floating required to Telemetry and ER for ICU Holds, • Cerner PowerChart EMR system is used, • Drips include vasopressors, nitro, heparin, and others, • Ventilator management required, • Monitor tech present with 44 hardwired GE monitors, • Charge nurse does not take a patient assignment, • RT and pharmacy are available 24/7, • Assigned patients will not include fresh open heart or craniotomy cases, • Travelers are expected to work holidays as per permanent staff rotation, • Compassion and high patient satisfaction focus are essential, • Scrub color requirement is navy blue, • Orientation includes one day on ICU and one shift on the Tele/stepdown unit, • First to float among staff, • No IV team; unit tech provides secretary and equipment duties, • Must pass required clinical tests prior to start, with a maximum of two attempts\n \n Requirements\n, • Active RN license, state or compact; pending licenses not accepted, • Minimum 2 years of acute care ICU experience (3 years preferred, or 2 years at a large institution), • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; CCRN preferred, • Must provide two references: one supervisor within the past 12 months and one supervisor or peer within the past 3 years, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility, • Documentation required: government-issued photo ID, • Experience with Cerner EMR is preferred, • Relias Dysrhythmia exam and sterile technique tests required for Sacramento, CA region and Arizona roles, • May not have been employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity in the last year if applying as a returning traveler\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
