American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN CVICU for a travel nursing job in Atlanta, Georgia. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: CVICU, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 01/05/2026, • Duration: 12 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Position is in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a hospital setting, • The unit has 42 beds, specializing in open heart surgeries, post-surgical heart transplants, and LVAD patients, • Patient population includes cases such as advanced heart failure, multi-vessel disease, coronary artery disease, pulmonary hypertension, and valvular heart disease, • Common bedside procedures include bronchoscopies, intubations, tracheostomies, central line, arterial line, and Swan Ganz catheter line insertions, • Assists in immediate post open heart surgical admissions and manages complex cardiac cases, • Uses Epic EMR and experience is required, • Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00, • Every other weekend work is required, • No on-call requirement, • Floating may occur within the facility and within scope of practice, • Responsible for managing complex post-cardiac surgery patients including open heart, transplant, and LVAD cases, • Expected to work major holidays if they occur during the assignment, following facility holiday coverage rules, • Maximum of seven days of requested time off allowed and no RTO during the first week of the assignment, • Full compliance is required prior to start; scheduling delays may occur if compliance is incomplete, • First time travelers are accepted for this unit, • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers, • Travel pairs cannot be assigned to the same shift on the same unit, • No blocked scheduling allowed\n \n Requirements\n, • Active GA or compact RN license required, • Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience, not including travel assignments, • Epic EMR experience is required, • Experience with Swan Ganz catheters, manual thermodilution syringe, and epicardial/transvenous pacing wires is required, • Must provide two supervisory references from managers or higher, • Must not have been permanently or PRN employed at a Piedmont facility within the last year to be eligible, • Return travelers who are ineligible at one Piedmont facility must complete an assignment elsewhere before returning to a new Piedmont location\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
