American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN CVICU for a travel nursing job in Atlanta, Georgia. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: CVICU, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 01/05/2026, • Duration: 12 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Position located in the Cardiovascular ICU of a large hospital, • 42-bed ICU specializing in open heart surgery, heart transplants, and LVAD care, • Patient population includes cases of advanced heart failure, coronary artery disease, pulmonary hypertension, and valvular heart disease, • Responsibilities include immediate post-open heart surgical admissions and care, • Involvement with Swan Ganz catheters, cardiac index calculations via manual thermodilution, and epicardial/transvenous pacing wires required, • Experience assisting with bedside bronchoscopies, intubations, tracheostomies, and various line insertions needed, • Uses Epic as the EMR system; Epic experience required, • Day shift (3x12 hours), 7:00 to 19:00, • Required to work every other weekend, • No on-call responsibilities, • Floating may be required within facility and scope of practice, • No blocked scheduling allowed, • Role involves providing specialized cardiovascular critical care to complex surgical and cardiac patients, • First-time travelers will be considered for this assignment, • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate, • Maximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed; no time off during the first week, • If one major holiday falls during assignment, traveler is expected to work it; if two, both must be worked; if three, two must be worked, • Compliance with all pre-employment requirements is necessary to begin assignment on time, • Travel pairs are not allowed to work the same shift in the same unit\n \n Requirements\n, • Active GA or compact RN license at time of consideration, • Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience, excluding travel assignments, • Competency with Epic EMR required, • Experience with post-open-heart surgical admissions, Swan Ganz catheters, cardiac index calculations, and epicardial or transvenous pacing wires required, • Ability to assist with bedside procedures such as bronchoscopies and various line insertions, • Must provide two supervisory references from a manager or above, • Perm/PRN staff must be away from all Piedmont facilities for at least one year to return as a traveler, • Return travelers unable to return to a Piedmont facility must complete a successful assignment elsewhere before rebooking\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
