Job Description Shipfitters (San Diego, CA) Lead Marine San Diego, CA, USA Full Time $27.00/hr - $120 Per Diem (per diem available for those who qualify) Lead Marine Staffing is current looking for Journeymen Shipfitters for the Shipyard Industry here in San Diego. This Shipfitter job will be working on Naval Bases & Shipyards from 6:00am to 2:30pm and overtime as needed. DBIDs badge in hand is a plus. Qualified candidates please apply now! Responsibilities: • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, drawings, and general correspondence in English., • Comprehensive understanding of ship repair terminology and ship compartment location, • nomenclature., • Ability to read and interpret structural drawings (including weld symbols), sketches, specifications,, • and NAVSEA standard items and Navy damage control diagrams., • Experience fabricating templates, squaring plates, scribing in structures, and installing perpendiculars, • on ships in accordance with drawings, specifications, or sketches., • Experience using oxy-acetylene torch for cutting and washing., • Welding experience:, • SMAW (S-11A) (fillet), • FCAW (S-1) (fillet), • GMAW (S-25) (fillet), • Must comply with OSHA & NAVSEA standards, • Complete daily work assignments and provide status of unfinished work for shift turnover, • Measure, lay out, and mark structures to be removed using drawings, specifications & sketches, • Cut out existing structures as required by the drawings or specifications, or as directed by the supervisor, • Construct templates and fabricate foundations or other structures., • Install prefabricated foundations and structures in accordance with drawings and specifications Benefits: • Health insurance, • Paid holidays, • Paid sick leave To see a list of more available jobs, please visit Company DescriptionOur mission is to be the Best In Class manpower support company by operating on the principals of delivering the highest level professionalism, integrity, honesty, and safety to our valued employees and clients.
