Job Description Position Overview/Job Summary: Under general supervision, the Kitter is responsible for gathering, verifying, and staging all required ingredients and packaging materials according to assigned blend formulas. This role ensures accuracy and quality by following specific recipes and procedures to select, weigh, and organize raw materials, oils, and flavors for production or packaging. The Kitter monitors scaling equipment, verifies lot codes and product descriptions, and evaluates raw materials for quality, including appearance and odor. In addition, the Kitter completes and maintains all required production documentation, cross-checks ingredients for accuracy, and ensures proper labeling and tagging of staged batches in accordance with batch specifications. The role requires strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety standards, and applicable regulations. The Kitter is also responsible for returning unused materials to stock (RTS) and maintaining organized staging areas. This position works primarily independently, while occasionally collaborating within a team environment to support the start of the production process and ensure compliance with company procedures and quality standards. Essential Job Functions: • Follow all safety procedures and perform work in the safest manner possible at all times., • Comply with all GMP, HACCP, food safety, and company safety policies and procedures., • Maintain a clean and sanitary kitting area at all times., • Cross-train to support other production lines and work collaboratively with leads, operators, and supervisors., • Review daily blending schedules and obtain production record documentation from the supervisor., • Inspect kitting equipment prior to use to ensure safe and proper operation., • Clean and sanitize kitting tools and equipment according to established procedures., • Confirm equipment readiness with Quality Control before beginning operations., • Continuously build, stage, label, scan, and move bulk raw ingredients in preparation for blending., • Follow detailed production records, kitting instructions, and safety guidelines for all formulas., • Accurately measure and weigh ingredients to ensure correct ratios and product consistency., • Monitor equipment during operation to ensure proper performance and report any issues., • Perform routine quality checks during the kitting process to ensure materials meet required specifications., • Follow all production procedures and complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner., • Identify and immediately report unsafe conditions or hazards to management., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment., • Wash and sanitize equipment as required for each formula or work order., • Safely weigh and transfer materials during batch preparation., • Accurately record and verify the consumption of all materials used in production., • Clean and sanitize equipment and tools between batches as required. JOB DESCRIPTION • Transport materials and staged products to the blending area using a forklift or pallet jack., • Organize, store, and move warehouse raw materials in designated racking areas while rotating stock and lot numbers. • Select materials based on correct lot numbers and item numbers according to batch tickets or recipes., • Follow instructions and updates from supervisors regarding procedures, policies, and operational changes., • Work effectively with minimal supervision while maintaining accuracy and productivity., • Adhere to personal safety procedures and escalate safety concerns to management as needed., • Regular and punctual attendance is required., • Other duties as assigned., • This job description describes just some of the main duties, activities and responsibilities for the role which may change at any time with or without prior notice. Skills/Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Food manufacturing experience preferred but not required., • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment., • Strong verbal and written communication skills., • Basic math skills with an understanding of weights, measurements, and ratios., • Demonstrates initiative in identifying and resolving equipment or operational challenges., • Ability to work in environments with dust and strong odors associated with spices and seasonings., • Prior experience weighing, scaling, or blending raw materials preferred., • Ability to safely operate a forklift in confined or tight spaces., • Ability to perform proper sanitation and cleaning of production equipment., • Ability to read and write in English., • Works effectively with coworkers to achieve shared production goals., • Ability to follow company rules, policies, and operational guidelines., • Completes assigned tasks accurately, thoroughly, and in the required sequence., • Flexibility to work different shifts, extended hours, or overtime as needed; overtime may be required during peak production periods. • Experience working in a continuous production environment with exposure to noise, dust, moving machinery, forklifts, and varying temperatures. Physical Requirements • Physically capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds consistently throughout the workday., • Repetitive standing, walking, bending, twisting, stooping, grasping, climbing, reaching, and moving about the facility • Experience working in a continuous production environment with exposure to noise, dust, moving machinery, forklifts, and fluctuations in temperature. • Will be required to work around spices and meat ingredients as part of the daily activities Monday-Friday 5:00am-1:30pm $20.00-$22.00 Per hour DOE Must be forklift certified on standup Company DescriptionPayCruit is a disruptive multi-state human capital business.
