Location: On site at location listed in job posting Weekly Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm The Business Systems Analyst partners with Treasury Management product owners, Payments Operations, Technology, Risk, and Compliance to deliver scalable, high-quality payments solutions. These associate leads discovery, translates business needs into clear requirements and user stories, shapes solution design with architects and developers, and drives testing, release, and adoption. The role balances speed with risk and compliance, ensuring solutions improve client experience, operational efficiency, and straight-through processing across Wires, ACH, FedNow, and RTP. Key responsibilities: • Discovery and analysis:, • Lead workshops with business and product owners, Payments Operations, Risk/Compliance, and Technology., • Document current- and future-state process maps across Wires, ACH, FedNow, and RTP., • Translate needs into epics, user stories, and functional/non-functional requirements, including availability, throughput, latency, resiliency, and cutoff/time-window considerations., • Solution design and configuration oversight:, • Collaborate with architects and developers to shape end-to-end payment flows, exception handling, limits/entitlements, dual control/approvals, templates, and auditability., • Guide design for message transformation and routing (e.g., ISO 20022, NACHA, Fedwire formats), OFAC/sanctions and fraud screening integrations, posting to core banking, returns/NOCs, investigations, RTP Request for Payment, and FedNow credits. Backlog and delivery: • Own and prioritize the backlog; plan sprints; manage dependencies across platforms and teams., • Maintain clear, testable requirements with full traceability from business objectives to acceptance criteria., • Partner with product owners on value realization and measurement. Testing and quality: • Define test strategies; author test cases (positive, negative, edge, performance)., • Coordinate SIT/UAT; manage defect triage and regression; validate data, entitlements, and access controls., • Support end-to-end certification and connectivity testing with external networks/gateways as applicable. Data and integration: • Partner on API, file/batch, and event-streaming designs to connect channels, payment hubs, screening, core banking, portals, and reporting., • Define and validate data mappings for ISO 20022, Fedwire, NACHA, and RTP messages; ensure reconciliation and audit trails., • Governance and compliance:, • Ensure adherence to NACHA rules, Fedwire/Reg J, RTP and FedNow operating rules, OFAC screening, KYC/AML policies, and internal audit requirements., • Follow SDLC, change management/CAB processes, segregation of duties, and access controls., • Environment and release management:, • Coordinate environment strategy and test data; plan deployments with detailed runbooks and backout plans., • Support cutovers and post-release stabilization with clear communications to stakeholders., • Change management and adoption:, • Produce high-quality documentation (BRDs/FRDs, process maps, release notes, SOP updates)., • Enable training for Payments Operations and client-facing teams; champion process improvements; measure outcomes. Operations support: • Participate in incident/problem management; perform root-cause analysis; recommend corrective and preventative actions., • Monitor KPIs (STP rate, exception/return rates, throughput, latency, availability); drive continuous improvement., • Vendor and stakeholder management:, • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and external vendors; review release notes and roadmaps; plan upgrades and certifications. Required qualifications: • 3-5+ years as a Business Systems Analyst (or similar) with hands-on experience in enterprise payments., • Practical experience with one or more payment channels: Wires (domestic/international), ACH, RTP, and/or FedNow., • Strong understanding of the end-to-end payment lifecycle: initiation, entitlements/limits, screening, formatting/routing, settlement, posting, exceptions/returns, investigations, and reporting., • Proven ability to capture business, functional, and non-functional requirements; author user stories and acceptance criteria; maintain requirements traceability., • Experience working in agile delivery (Scrum or Kanban), closely partnering with developers, QA, and operations., • Testing expertise: defining test strategies, authoring test cases, coordinating UAT, and managing defects and regression., • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; able to translate between business and technical teams and influence decisions., • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or equivalent experience considered. Preferred qualifications: • Knowledge of payment standards and networks: ISO 20022 (pacs/pain/camt), Fedwire, SWIFT, NACHA, RTP, and FedNow; comfort with data mapping and transformations., • Experience with payment hubs/platforms and connectivity (examples: ACI Money Transfer System, Fiserv PEP+ ACH, FIS/Dovetail, Bottomline, Volante; FedLine, SWIFT, TCH)., • Familiarity with fraud prevention and AML/OFAC screening integrations and case management workflows., • Understanding of core banking integration patterns, ledger posting, and GL reconciliation., • Proficiency with Jira/Confluence, MS Office and Visio; basic SQL and API tools (e.g., Postman); knowledge of SDLC and CI/CD concepts; exposure to monitoring/logging (e.g., Splunk)., • Experience with performance, resiliency, and high-availability requirements for real-time and high-volume payment processing., • Experience with installations/upgrades and certification testing with external payment networks.
