Job Description Construction Project Manager Salary $90,000 - $120,000 commensurate with experience On the West Coast, Specialized Pavement Marking (SPM) has built a reputation for being the marque specialty contractor involved in the installation of pavement markings. We are seeking a highly skilled, energetic dynamic Construction Project Manager. JOB SUMMARY: The Project Manager directs daily activities of various construction projects from start to finish. Responsibilities include scheduling field employees, sourcing materials, allocating equipment, working directly with prime/sub-contractors, communicating with various agency representatives (project engineers, project inspectors, etc.), reading/understanding construction plans and specifications, and promoting a safe working environment for field personnel. Successful Project Managers exemplify organizational and time-management skills while complying to the organizational mission statement of Safety, Quality, Production. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Determine needed resources (labor, equipment, materials, etc.) from start to finish with attention to budgets., • Communicate daily with dispatch for most effective scheduling of labor, equipment & materials, • Allocate project responsibilities among field personnel or Superintendent/Foreman, • Manage the project’s progress by communicating daily with project Superintendent/Foreman, • Prepare detailed reports for upper management, • Ensure adherence to all health/safety standards, • Oversee subcontracting of specialized craftwork, • Inspect work in progress to ensure that work product conforms to plans & specifications, • Analyzes plan-sets, specifications, proposals, and other construction documents to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for bidding construction projects, • Prepare preliminary pay estimates, • Vocational or apprenticeship training supplemented with 3-5 years of construction leadership experience, or equivalent, • Ability to analyze and interpret construction plan-sets and specifications, • Ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment, • Familiarity with OSHA standards, • Proficient MS Office, • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills, • Excellent organizational and time-management skills Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
