As a Banquet Cook, you’ll prepare and present high-quality meals for school events, faculty gatherings, and student celebrations. What You'll Do • Prepare and cook large quantities of food for banquets, receptions, and catered events according to recipes and menu specifications., • Assist with event setup, food presentation, and service as needed., • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards in all kitchen and prep areas., • Follow food safety protocols including proper handling, storage, and labeling., • Monitor and control food quality, portion sizes, and waste., • Work collaboratively with other kitchen and event staff to ensure smooth operations., • Assist with inventory, receiving, and storing banquet supplies., • Flexibility to support other campus culinary operations when banquet schedule permits., • Ensures safety of food prepared by following safe sanitary food handling practices- hot food hot and cold food cold., • Follows specified cleaning procedures for all cooking equipment. Utilizes proper food storage practices- cover, label, and date., • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments., • Perform other duties as assigned. What You Will Bring • 1–2 years banquet/high-volume cooking experience; institutional/school food service preferred, • Skill in large-scale prep, plating, and safe food handling (ServSafe preferred/State Food Handler required), • Ability to follow recipes, schedules, and production sheets, • Familiarity with kitchen equipment, knife safety, and foodservice operations, • Commitment to cleanliness and safety, • Commitment to service in a faith-based academic setting preferred, • Strong communication and teamwork skills; professional demeanor, • Physical ability to stand long hours and lift up to 50 lbs, • Flexible availability (evenings/weekends/holidays as needed), • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen (required), • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship (E-Verify used) Physical and Sensory Requirements What We Offer! • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits with several plan options to choose from, provided by Blue Cross.
