An Extrusion Operator 1 is expected to be able to prioritize the time and priorities of the crew members they oversee in a safe and productive manner. Other duties may be assigned. • Performs duties in a manner that adheres to safety policies and procedures., • Participate in the training curriculum, learning new aspects of extrusion line operations while completing assigned duties required for operation., • Actively communicate with Supervisor, Process Engineers and Department Manager regarding process troubleshooting and process efficiency improvements., • Understand all aspects of extrusion line operation and standard work processes. Utilize this knowledge to ensure team is correctly adhering to all policies and procedures. Serve as lead to inform and train employees as needed., • Maintain quality standards by reviewing product specifications and ensuring thorough completion of assigned production paperwork. Serve as representative for extrusion crew that all standards are followed., • Operate as a leader for extrusion crew, responsible for all aspects of the overall process. Team members will rely on the Operator 1’s detailed direction and proper communication to ensure entirety of process is safe and efficient., • Visual acuity for identifying minor imperfections and material defects., • Basic understanding of general tool usage including tape measurers, utility knives and screw drivers., • Good communication skills, both verbal and written with working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Responsible for collaborating with the customer in developing new products and expand upon existing product lines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Able to make decisions on new production quotes and expansion of product lines for customers., • Consults with customer’s technical personnel regarding current and upcoming projects or concepts., • Develops new products from concept to full production., • Conducts a search of new materials, processes, and procedures necessary to enhance and improve a product., • Prepares accurate cost analysis of projects and forecasts accurate delivery times for quotation process., • Review new projects to determine effectiveness of design regarding moldability, tool concept, assembly and material required., • Monitors work in process and assures that the customer is advised and approves alterations made to product or schedule., • Provides engineering support and input to departments within company., • Ensures designs of tools & fixtures have appropriate concept and support for design & mfg., • Assists manufacturing department in development of processes and mold necessary for production., • Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency and makes recommendations., • May represent Program Management Department on cross-functional teams., • When requested, may work on special projects and various related assignments.
