Job Description The Wyndham Atlanta Buckhead Hotel & Conference Center has an exciting opportunity to join our team as our Senior Sales Manager. You will add passion and creativity to our sales team, as well as build a strategy to reach and exceed revenue targets through outside sales calls, on-site visits and sales tours, and community networking. You will also be able to increase sales by monitoring local market trends and competitor activity in order to find and close business leads. We are searching for someone with at least 3 years of hotel sales and marketing expertise, as well as a love for meeting new people and providing exceptional customer service. Apply now if this sounds like an exciting opportunity! Responsibilities: The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for achieving assigned goals that contribute to the hotel’s overall performance. This includes proactively soliciting and securing new accounts and working collaboratively with the Director of Sales to meet or exceed revenue and market share targets for one or more properties. The Senior Sales Manager is also responsible for generating rooms and catering revenue through strategic planning and effective execution within assigned market segments. The focus of sales may vary based on the respective property the associate is assigned to (i.e. Leisure, Business Travel, Group, SMERF). Management-level associates are expected to work as much of each workday as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: · Consistently achieve assigned sales, revenue, and solicitation call goals. · Proactively conduct sales calls, lead property tours, and entertain clients in Leisure, SMERF, Business Travel (BT), and/or Group segments, as applicable. · Strengthen and grow relationships with existing accounts within assigned market segments. · Monitor and analyze trends within targeted market to identify opportunities and drive strategy. · Create and maintain a weekly sales call schedule to ensure timely follow-up on tentative business, manage existing accounts, develop new business, and address assigned priorities. · Complete all departmental reports and system updates accurately and on time. · Communicate ideas, expectations, and information clearly and concisely. · Conduct sales calls that meet or exceed company standards and support business growth. · Negotiate contracts that protect the property's interests while preserving positive client relationships. · Approach all guest and employee interactions with attentiveness, friendliness, professionalism, and a service-first attitude. · Adhere to hotel/brand standards, company policies, sales protocols, and performance metrics. · Develop a thorough understanding of hotel operations, policies, and departmental functions. · Support and participate in special sales initiatives and promotions, such as sales blitzes and targeted campaigns. · Stay informed on the property’s operational capabilities to align sales strategies effectively. · Accurately document sales calls and client interactions using approved systems and processes. · Coordinate with relevant hotel departments to resolve issues and ensure quality service delivery and customer satisfaction. · Collect payments for events and contracts in accordance with hotel policies and procedures. · Maintain high visibility by actively participating in the local community, CVB, and other business or professional organizations. · Consistently present a professional image through appearance and attire. · Prospect, qualify, and secure new and repeat business through phone, electronic, and in-person sales calls. · Perform additional duties as assigned by the General Manager or Director of Sales. Qualifications: Work Environment This role is an onsite position and requires the employee to perform their work duties at the job site location with possible travel to local areas. The employee will be exposed to typical equipment and temperatures found in a hotel setting. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning; assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Education And/or Experience: · Minimum of 3 years of progressive sales experience within a hotel setting. · Demonstrates personal integrity, effective time management, high visibility in area of responsibility, and strong ability to prioritize workload. · Proven ability to build customer loyalty and deliver quality service through on-site client engagement. · Familiar with the legal aspects of contractual agreements. · Experienced in cash handling, accounting procedures, and general administrative tasks. · Proficient in Windows operating systems. · Previous supervisory experience required. · Extensive experience with major hotel brands. · Able to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. · Skilled in writing routine reports, correspondence, and managing dates and times. · Applies deductive reasoning to follow instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form. · Effective listener with the ability to understand, clarify, and resolve concerns. · Maintains composure and objectivity under pressure. · Works independently while managing multiple tasks, demonstrating strong organizational and presentation skills. · Solves practical problems with various concrete variables where limited standardization exists. · Interprets instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. · Proficient in calculating figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position requires the ability to stand, walk, and use hands for handling or manipulating objects. Employees must also be able to reach with arms, talk, hear, and occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may occasionally lift or move items over 25 pounds.
