Job Description Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Unit Location: Syracuse, NY Job Type: Contract Duration: 15 Weeks Schedule: Must be available to work every other weekend and some holidays Pay Rate: * Local: $38/hr (Approx. $1,207.50/week) * Travel: $45/hr including stipend (Approx. $1,552.50/week) Pay rate may vary based on experience. Job Summary "Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work in a Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Unit. This role involves providing nursing care to patients aged 5–17 in an acute care psychiatric setting. The LPN will support physicians and registered nurses in delivering quality patient care while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment. Responsibilities * Provide direct nursing care to pediatric and adolescent psychiatric patients * Monitor and document vital signs, patient progress, and treatment responses * Assist physicians and RNs during examinations and clinical procedures * Prepare patients for medical exams and treatments * Administer medications and injections as directed * Assist with procedures such as phlebotomy, IV insertion, and EKG application when required * Observe and report behavioral or medical changes in patients * Maintain accurate documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems * Support daily nursing unit operations and maintain clinical areas * Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members * Assist with scheduling, chart preparation, and general administrative tasks when needed * Follow safety, infection control, and facility policies QualificationsRequired * Active New York State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License * Minimum 1 year of nursing experience * At least 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience * Experience working with children and adolescents (ages 5–17) * CPR certification (or ability to obtain) * Strong communication and interpersonal skills Highly Preferred * Inpatient hospital experience * Phlebotomy experience * IV insertion skills * EKG application experience * Experience using EMR systems For more details contact at or Call / Text at 516-862-1169.
