Job Description JOB-19296 Computer Support Specialists - 25543 Position Description: The Office of Aging and Long-Term care is responsible for the NYSDOH long-term care functions related to licensure, facility surveys, data collection, and policies and analysis. Computer Support Specialist candidates will assist with activities related to the COVID-19 outbreak in health care facilities throughout the state, collection of various datasets external to OALTC, maintaining and running data pipelines, working as liaisons with ITS to have software and hardware installed on employee devices, and provide support to employees who need additional training on data tools and best practices. The positions will function as part of the Center for Data Architecture, Intelligence & Support (DAIS). Minimum Qualifications: Well organized, detail oriented, excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to walk-through complicated technical ideas or tasks with individuals without an IT background, and the ability to work alone and as part of a team. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Access, Word, Excel and SharePoint. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and experience working in a fast-paced setting with the ability to multi-task and work in complex databases. Experience in effectively communicating with consumers, providers, and staff. Experience creating and maintaining a data dictionary and mapping of existing databases. Experience in SQL, Python, R, or Tableau is a plus. Responsibilities: Candidates will provide analysis of data, create and maintain data dictionaries, run and maintain data pipeline processes, map existing databases, perform routine database maintenance as specifically directed, and provide various aspects of general computer support. Additionally, candidates will provide training and support for DOH staff, providers, and consumers. Duties include but are not limited to the following: • Utilize multiple data sources, assist with the use of variance analysis to validate the data used for Hospital and Long-Term Care (LTC) providers COVID-19 statistics., • Maintain and improve LTC contact databases used for COVID-19 ad hoc requests and daily activities., • Run and consolidate ad hoc reports used by DOH staff to prioritize COVID-19 survey follow up with LTC providers., • Run and maintain data pipelines that feed the OALTC Data Lake., • Research, create, and maintain documentation on data assets., • Work with ITS to ensure software and hardware is installed in a timely manner on DAIS employee devices as needed., • Data analysis and duties as needed to assist in COVID-19 response and other OALTC functions., • Train DOH staff on data tools and best practices., • Special assignments and projects as assigned.Company DescriptionEstablished in 2005, Knowledge Builders Inc.
