Job Description Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Medical Assistant with experience in referral coordination and basic lab testing, including point-of-care tests such as strep and flu. The ideal candidate will support our clinical team by providing quality patient care, coordinating referrals, and performing routine in-office tests. Responsibilities: Clinical Support & Lab Testing * Assist providers with patient exams and procedures * Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and patient information * Prepare exam rooms and maintain a clean, well-stocked environment * Administer medications and injections as directed * Perform and document in-office lab tests, including: * Rapid strep tests * Rapid flu tests * Urinalysis * Blood glucose testing * Collect and process specimens for outside labs as needed * Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records (EMR) Referral Coordination * Process internal and external referrals promptly and accurately * Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations * Communicate with patients regarding referral details and scheduling * Coordinate with specialist offices to ensure timely appointments and continuity of care * Track referral outcomes and follow up as needed * Document referral activities within the EMR system Qualifications: * Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) preferred * At least 1 year of experience in a clinical setting * Experience with referral management and prior authorizations * Familiarity with point-of-care lab testing protocols * Proficiency with EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Athena, eClinicalWorks) * Strong communication and multitasking skills * Bilingual (optional but preferred) Benefits: * Compensation based on experience
