QUALIFICATIONS: Required • Marine industry-related experience. Strong knowledge of port procedures, maritime regulations, and documentation., • Experience as a Ship’s Agent., • Ability to communicate (read, write, and speak fluently) in English., • Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record., • High School Diploma or equivalent., • Organized individual; ability to prioritize., • Must be able to accurately process alpha/numeric information., • Well-developed interpersonal skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors, and fellow employees., • Ability to work with limited supervision, multitask, and possess strong initiative., • Must work flexible schedule, including irregular and extended hours, holidays, and weekends, as needed., • Clearing crew members with Federal authorities to enter and exit the vessels., • Notifies all Federal Authorities (Coast Guard and CBP) of the vessels ninety-six (96) hours prior to vessel arrival into the ports., • Reports if there are any stowaways or illegal contraband (i.e. drugs) to the Coast Guard., • Notifies vessels prior to arrival into the ports of MARSEC (Marine Security) level in effect., • Boards the vessels upon arrival and thereafter when needed., • Clears the vessels with CBP and Agriculture authorities., • Prepares lay orders and other related documents necessary for vessel entry into the port(s)., • Arranges for berth, pilotage, tugs, linesmen, surveyors and other related vendors., • Arranges & performs crew off & on-signing and arranges medical services, delivery of spare parts, charts, shipyard services., • Prepares POM vessel reports (detailed inbound and southbound cargo) on a weekly basis., • Prepares statement of facts and other related documentation (Bs/L, Certs of Origin, NOR, etc.)., • Generates & responds to vessel, owner/operator/chartered and other parties before and during vessels stay via phone, e-mail, telex & fax., • Keeps & reports daily labor working activities and cargo production operations of vessel during port stay., • Travels to several different port facilities to attend vessels while in port., • Picking up crew members from the airport and taking them to the airport as needed., • Reports all injuries/incidents to authorities and takes the crew members for medical attention (hospital or local clinic)., • Reports any oil or chemical spills on the vessels to the corresponding authorities., • The employee is continuously required to walk, talk and hear., • The employee is continuously required to read and write., • The employee is frequently required to stand and walk., • The employee is frequently required to sit., • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds., • The employee must continuously use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects; and reach with hands and arms., • The employee is frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl or twist., • Report safety hazards, • Immediately report incidents involving injury, illness, or property damage, • Wear protective PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as instructed or necessary, • Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and rules, • Refuse any unsafe task or operation, • Participate in safety meetings and training CONDITIONS: • Work is performed primarily in outdoors; exposed to changing weather (temperature & humidity) and outdoor environments, during day and night shifts., • The employee continuously works near moving trucks., • The employee is continuously exposed to dust, fumes, and airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals., • We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
