How you will make an Impact (Job Summary) SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Mechanical Assembler, you will play a critical part in the production of advanced pipeline inspection systems by assembling complex mechanical, electro-mechanical, and cable harness sub-systems to exact specifications that meet rigorous industry standards. What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities) While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be: • Technical Operations\n\n, • Assemble components using hand and power tools per engineering drawings and work instructions\n, • Conduct functional and diagnostic testing using shop test equipment\n, • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on assemblies and equipment\n, • Perform soldering operations to IPC and RoHS standards\n, • Handle components using ESD protocols and procedures\n, • Execute first article builds and support Engineering Change Requests (ECRs)\n, • Perform assembly and repair tasks on both new and refurbished equipment\n\n, • Production Standards & Performance\n\n, • Meet defined takt times and assembly throughput targets\n, • Maintain adherence to quality control standards during all phases of assembly\n, • Work overtime as scheduled to meet production deadlines\n, • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance per shift requirements\n, • Participate in Continuous improvement Projects\n\n, • Documentation and Compliance\n\n, • Accurately complete work order documentation and quality forms\n, • Follow all applicable industry standards, safety protocols, and internal procedures.\n, • Assist in creating Standard work procedures.\n\n What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education) We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has: Required Experience and Education \n • High School Diploma or Equivalency\n, • Able to read mechanical assembly drawings and follow instructions\n, • Fastener/Hardware knowledge\n, • Able to Solder to IPC standards.\n, • Correct manual wire crimping process\n, • Military, trade school or equivalent experience is preferred \n, • 5 years' manufacturing experience in a fast-paced Electro-Mechanical manufacturing environment.\n, • IPC610 and IPC620 training\n, • Understand Lean manufacturing concepts , 5S and Kaizen Projects\n, • High School Diploma or Equivalency\n, • 6AM - 2:30PM Monday - Friday overtime required depending on manufacturing needs\n\n, • Must be able to lift 60 lbs.\n, • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time\n, • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE for various jobs\n\n How we live our culture Our culture is at the center of what we do and, more importantly, who we are.
