American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 12/08/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in a float pool across multiple PCU/IMC units in a hospital acute care setting, • Units include general, cardiac, neuro, oncology, rehab, renal, bariatrics, ortho, trauma, ED observation, and more, • Adult to geriatric patient population with diverse diagnoses such as cardiac, neuro, surgical, oncology, renal, psych/detox, and general medicine, • Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:3-4, dependent on acuity, • Night shifts with 12-hour shifts, schedule determined by leadership for 6 weeks at a time, • Required to work 6-9 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling period, with potential for holiday rotation, • Float within Zone 1 (Colorado Springs area) with no home base facility; assignments may vary among sister facilities within a 60-mile radius, • Must titrate and manage cardiac drips, insulin, ativan, and heparin, • Uses Epic EMR; Epic experience preferred, • Orientation consists of 1-2 days with a preceptor plus 12 hours of orientation, • Travelers are expected to be flexible to fill gaps in scheduling and may float to a variety of units and acuity levels including ICU for low-acuity holds, • Designated charge nurse available; may take small patient assignment on night shifts if needed, • Nurse aides and respiratory therapy support available on units, • Self-scheduling is not available; time off requests must be submitted prior to assignment start, • Any color scrubs are allowed, • First-time travelers are considered, • Candidates cannot have been directly employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity in the past year\n \n Requirements\n, • Active CO or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration, • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications from AHA; TNCC required, • Minimum of 2 years recent PCU/IMC experience required, • Must have experience with cardiac drips, insulin, and ativan, • Must be comfortable titrating and managing Dopamine, Dobutamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Ativan, Insulin, and Heparin drips, • Driver's license must be submitted for consideration, • Must reside outside a 60-mile radius from the center of the float zone, • Two recent professional references required: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
