Springfield, IL offers a welcoming community, rich history, and vibrant local culture—making it an ideal location for healthcare professionals seeking rewarding nursing jobs in Illinois.\n \n\nCardiac Stepdown RN Job Details\n\n • Location: Springfield, IL 62781 (Central Illinois healthcare jobs)\n, • Facility: Acute Care Hospital – Cardiac Stepdown Unit (IMC/Telemetry/Stepdown)\n, • Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse Contract\n, • Start Date: November 24, 2025\n, • End Date: February 23, 2026\n, • Contract Duration: 13 weeks\n, • Shift: Night Shift (18:45 – 07:15), 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts/week\n, • Hours per Week: 36\n, • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend\n, • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2000–$2050\n, • Charting System: Cerner\n, • Scrub Color: Any solid color\n, • Parking: Free with permit\n\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n\n, • Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Cardiac Stepdown RN, IMC Nurse, Telemetry Nurse, or similar acute care nursing roles\n, • Active Illinois RN license (required at time of application)\n, • Certifications: ACLS and BLS (AHA or Red Cross only); NIHSS preferred\n, • Proficiency with Cerner electronic charting system\n, • Preferred: Experience as a charge nurse, in teaching hospitals, or Level I Trauma Centers\n, • Ability to float to similar units as needed\n, • Strong skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and emergency response\n, • Experience with post-cardiac procedures, hemodialysis management, IV therapy, and respiratory support equipment\n, • Excellent communication, teamwork, and clinical support skills\n\n\nCardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities\n\n, • Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in a busy Cardiac Stepdown/Telemetry unit (average census: 38)\n, • Monitor and manage cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, and respond to cardiac emergencies\n, • Interpret and manage telemetry and dysrhythmias, both on-unit and remotely\n, • Care for patients before and after cardiac procedures, including angiograms, cardiac catheterizations, and cardiac surgery\n, • Manage feeding tubes, surgical drains, chest tubes, and provide wound care\n, • Administer blood products, manage central and peripheral lines, and perform phlebotomy\n, • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV therapy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, and rapid response\n, • Float to similar acute care units as required to meet facility needs\n We believe in empowering your career.
