Our Summer Camp Assistant Director embodies rock and roll in a positive way and is responsible for creating the most valuable student experience possible. This role creates a safe and inspiring environment for students to achieve their musical and creative potential and ensures that each School of Rock student has an exceptional musical journey. Roles and Responsibilities The Assistant Camp Director is responsible for planning, preparing, and execution of each summer camp. This position will have assistants that will support the camp director with these tasks. The goal is to deliver a fun, educational experience for all the campers. Here are a few key responsibilities of a Camp Director: * Plan, facilitate and execute the daily activities of the camp and manage the progression of each student. This includes overseeing and also running a rehearsal room and providing individual instruction when needed. * Keep daily progress reports for students * Execute the camp theme of the week by managing the students both on and off the stage. * Create an inclusive environment and manage student behavior. Directors should immediately report any major issues to school management. * Help get new students excited about joining a core program at School of Rock. Skill Requirements: * 2 + years experience teaching and/or working in a camp setting. * Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design * Excellent ability to deal well with a wide range of customers and other people * Strong organizational skills * Very strong customer relations skills * Resourceful and good problem-solver * Works well with others * Ideal candidate is a working musician (actively gigging, recording, or playing in a band) * College level music training/education helpful * Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor * Good judgment a must * Availability to work summer camps for the full week (Monday-Friday 8:45am-3:15pm). Camps are held the week of June 3rd- the week of August 5th. (10 camps total over 10 weeks; can be flexible to miss 1 or 2 weeks). Customer Connection: * Communicate regularly with parents on progress of students after lessons * Interact with parents and students regularly by being visible and accessible in the school * Pitch in during canceled lessons in the overall execution of the program * Assist in rehearsals and basic maintenance in school * Adheres to the SOR Code of Conduct, safety policies, including the Monitoring and Supervision policy.
