Job DescriptionJob Title: Welder Job Description This role focuses on welding and fabricating steel components and rebar assemblies used in precast concrete form construction within a fast-paced, construction-style production facility. You will interpret blueprints and fabrication instructions, prepare and weld materials, and ensure that all work meets quality and safety standards while supporting daily production goals. Responsibilities • Weld steel components and rebar assemblies used in precast concrete form construction., • Fabricate, repair, and modify steel forms according to blueprints, schematics, and fabrication instructions., • Measure, cut, grind, and prepare mild steel and other materials for welding., • Operate MIG welding equipment and, when needed, stick welding equipment to complete production work., • Use hand tools, grinders, torches, tape measures, and basic fabrication equipment safely and effectively., • Inspect welds for accuracy, quality, and structural soundness, making adjustments or repairs as needed., • Collaborate with production teams to ensure timely completion of form sets for daily concrete pours., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with OSHA and facility safety standards., • Tack, fit, and fabricate steel components independently when required., • Follow all production schedules and instructions to meet deadlines and quality expectations.Essential Skills, • At least 1 year of welding experience in a construction, fabrication, or manufacturing environment., • Proficiency in MIG welding in a production setting., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and fabrication instructions., • Competence in using a tape measure accurately for layout and cutting., • Experience with grinding, cutting, and preparing materials for welding., • Ability to inspect and evaluate weld quality and structural integrity., • Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment., • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks., • Ability to work in outdoor and warehouse conditions as required.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience welding rebar cages or form steel in a precast or concrete environment., • Ability to tack, fit, and fabricate steel components independently from drawings or instructions., • Knowledge of form building terminology and techniques., • Experience with stick welding as a complementary skill to MIG welding., • Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish.Why Work Here? The environment combines indoor warehouse and outdoor working conditions, where you will regularly handle steel components and rebar, operate MIG and stick welding equipment, and use grinders, torches, and other fabrication tools. The facility emphasizes adherence to OSHA and internal safety standards, and the work is physically active, involving lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bakersfield, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
