Job Description Foreman / Project Supervisor – Roadway & Airfield Maintenance Traveling Position | Direct Hire | Full-Time Location: Nationwide Travel Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire Skilled Trades Services is seeking an experienced Foreman / Project Supervisor to lead crews on roadway and airport infrastructure projects across the U.S. This is a traveling position with projects assigned nationwide based on experience and operational needs. Experience in Airfield Maintenance is a HUGE asset and will be strongly considered. JOB SUMMARY Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of assigned projects to ensure goals are achieved safely, on time, and within budget. This role involves scheduling, coordinating, and supervising work crews while providing hands-on leadership in the field. The Foreman must be willing and able to perform general labor tasks as needed and work collaboratively with supervisors, project managers, and office staff to ensure successful roadway and airport project execution. QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS • Valid driver’s license required; must be at least 21 years of age, • Must pass and maintain a DOT physical qualification, • Minimum 2 years of supervisory construction experience or equivalent, • Strong working knowledge of construction technology, equipment, and application methods, • Hands-on experience coordinating craft and labor activities, • Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and documentation skills, • Strong understanding of company policies, procedures, and safety standards, • Airfield maintenance experience is a significant advantage ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift/move up to 100 lbs, • Ability to work long hours and in outdoor conditions, including exposure to weather, fumes, airborne particles, vibration, and moving mechanical parts, • Rotate between tasks such as:, • Driving with trailer, • Lifting boxes and materials, • Operating sealing equipment and small machinery, • Flagging and concrete repair (including occasional jackhammer use), • Ability to wear required PPE (hard hat, safety vest, hearing protection, goggles, respirator, etc.), • Maintain fleet reports, daily logs, timesheets, and vehicle maintenance documentation, • Strong vision capabilities including close, color, peripheral, and depth perception, • Ability to work safely around electrical hazards and loud environments, • Must work effectively as part of a team and follow all directions RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES • Direct small to large projects, including subcontractor coordination, • Communicate daily with VP of Operations, Project Managers, Contract Administrators, and office staff, • Maintain communication with project owners and prime contractors, • Oversee project execution to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, schedules, and budgets, • Represent the company in project meetings and field problem-solving, • Assist Project Managers with financial documentation and contract-related items, • Inspect work areas and coordinate materials, equipment, and vendors, • Lead crews with integrity, sound judgment, and professionalism, • Conduct daily team huddles to:, • Set goals, • Review safety, • Assess workforce readiness, • Assign and inspect crew work; ensure accuracy, quality, and completeness, • Conduct performance reviews and coaching; document with office staff, • Lead Monday Toolbox Safety Talks and submit required documentation, • Enforce OSHA, DOT, company safety policies, Fleet Safety Program, and HazCom requirements, • Immediately report and document incidents; notify HR and Operations Manager, • Manage administrative duties including timesheets, job quantities, DOT/OSHA reporting, and receipts, • Maintain complete project documentation (hard copy and electronic), • Attend safety meetings, supervisory meetings, seminars, and continuing education as required, • Perform additional duties as project or company needs require WHY JOIN OUR CLIENT • Nationally recognized contractor with a strong reputation for performance, • Diverse roadway and airport infrastructure projects nationwide, • Highly trained crews and project managers, • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and professional growth, • Direct hire opportunity with long-term career potential
