Job Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities Financial Management & Reporting • Oversee all daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and bank reconciliations, • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company standards, • Ensure timely and accurate submission of divisional financial results to Corporate Finance, • Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany accounts, and ensure proper documentation, • Manage alcohol excise tax filings, sales tax, and other regulatory financial requirements, • Support year-end financial audits and provide requested schedules and documentation, • Lead the division’s annual budgeting process in coordination with the Division General Manager and Corporate Finance, • Prepare rolling forecasts and monitor financial performance versus budget and prior year, • Ensure adherence to corporate accounting policies, procedures, and internal control requirements, • Maintain proper segregation of duties and internal audit readiness, • Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations, • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability, • Partner with Corporate Finance and IT to enhance accounting systems and reporting tools (VIP, Nexus, Quebit, or other ERP systems), • Supervise and develop accounting team members, providing coaching and performance feedback, • Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement, • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Sales, HR, and Corporate Finance to resolve accounting-related issues, • Act as the division’s liaison for Corporate Finance inquiries and initiatives, • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred, • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; previous supervisory experience strongly preferred, • Deep understanding of GAAP, financial statements, and internal control frameworks, • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems (VIP, Nexus, Quebit, or similar), • Experience in beverage distribution or manufacturing preferred, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, • Leadership & Team Development: Builds, guides, and motivates an effective accounting team, • Financial Accuracy: Ensures accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in all financial reporting, • Analytical Thinking: Uses financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities, • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluates and enhances accounting processes and controls, • Collaboration: Partners effectively with cross-functional and corporate teams, • Integrity & Confidentiality: Maintains discretion and adheres to ethical accounting practices, • This position is primarily a desk-based role requiring prolonged periods of sitting and computer use, • Regular use of standard office equipment including computer, phone, keyboard, and related technology, • Ability to lift, move, or carry items weighing up to 10 lbs as needed for office or event setup, • Occasional standing, bending, or reaching may be required Sheehan Family Companies is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
