Job Description Position Summary As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information, compliance with relevant regulations, and supporting strategic financial decision-making. Your responsibilities will include managing portions of the month end close, account reconciliations, financial analysis, budgeting, and implementing accounting policies and procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: • Financial Reporting:, • Prepare, analyze, and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)., • Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes., • Generate financial reports for internal management and external stakeholders., • Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial statements to regulatory authorities., • Prepare documentation for tax planning., • Budgeting and Forecasting:, • Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts., • Monitor budgetary performance and provide variance analysis., • Collaborate with department heads to gather relevant budget information., • Monitor and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations., • General Ledger Management:, • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts., • Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions., • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records., • Record additions and disposals of fixed assets., • Compliance:, • Stay abreast of changes in accounting regulations and ensure compliance., • Coordinate and assist with external audits., • Respond to audit inquiries and implement audit recommendations., • Prepare documentation for annual financial audits and workers’ compensation audits., • Renewal of business licenses and vehicle registrations, • Manage and submit sales tax filings, • Financial Analysis:, • Conduct detailed financial analysis to support strategic decision-making., • Provide insights into financial performance and trends., • Collaborate with other departments to analyze and interpret financial data., • Process Improvement:, • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the finance function., • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistent and efficient financial operations., • Team Collaboration:, • Participate in the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting., • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between financial goals and operational activities., • Ad hoc reports and projects as needed. Minimum Qualifications Education & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field, • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in accounting and finance roles., • Crane or heavy equipment industry experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities • Knowledge:, • Accounting Principles: In depth understanding of relevant accounting standards, regulations, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), • Financial Reporting: Proficient in preparing and analyzing financial statements utilizing financial software and tools., • Compliance: Stay updated on changes in internal and external industry, state, and federal regulations., • Software Proficiency: proficient in financial software and accounting systems.
