Job Description Job Title: Structural Technician Job Description This role focuses on the precise drilling, assembly, and finishing of aerospace structural components. You will work with flight hardware, apply structural bonding techniques, and ensure all assemblies meet tight tolerance and quality requirements using specialized tools and equipment. Responsibilities • Drill precision holes in flight hardware, selecting the appropriate drill motors, drill sizes, and tooling such as jigs or egg cups to achieve exact tolerances., • Assemble structural hardware using structural adhesives, ensuring correct application and curing processes to achieve strong and reliable bonds., • Properly torque fasteners using torque tools to meet specified requirements and maintain structural integrity., • Install inserts, including helicoils, and install hiloks and rivets in accordance with engineering specifications and work instructions., • Perform in-process inspections using hand tools such as micrometers, calipers, and pin gauges to verify dimensions and maintain precision tolerances down to thousandths of an inch., • Carry out blending and deburring operations using appropriate hand or power tools to remove sharp edges and imperfections on aluminum and other structural components., • Apply protective treatments such as alodine and sealants to hardware after blending or deburring to prevent corrosion and protect the finished surfaces., • Support mechanical and structural assembly activities, including fastening, drilling, and sealant application, to build and complete aerospace structures., • Follow established 5S practices to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area., • Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, as needed to move parts, assemblies, and equipment safely within the facility., • Proven experience working with structural components in an aerospace or similar precision manufacturing environment., • Hands-on experience with drilling operations, including pneumatic drilling, and selecting appropriate drill motors and drill sizes., • Strong proficiency working with aluminum structural components and understanding of their handling and finishing requirements., • Ability to use torque wrenches and other torque tools to correctly torque fasteners to specified values., • Experience with structural bonding, including bond preparation and the use of structural adhesives., • Skill in installing helicoils, hiloks, and rivets in structural assemblies., • Capability to work to precision tolerances, including tolerances measured in thousandths of an inch (±0.001) and similar tight specifications., • Proficiency using inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and pin gauges to perform in-process inspections., • Mechanical assembly skills, including fastening, drilling, and sealant application on aerospace or mechanical structures., • Familiarity with 5S practices in a production or warehouse environment., • Ability to safely operate a forklift or similar material handling equipment., • Experience in an aerospace warehouse or aerospace manufacturing environment., • Knowledge of structural bonding processes, including bond prepping and surface preparation., • Understanding of mechanisms and mechanical systems within structural assemblies., • Comfort working with sealants, alodine, and other protective treatments used on aerospace hardware., • Attention to detail and strong commitment to quality and precision., • Ability to read and follow technical instructions, work orders, and engineering specifications. Work Environment You will work in an aerospace warehouse environment that supports the production and assembly of flight hardware. The role involves frequent use of pneumatic drills, torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, pin gauges, and other precision tools, as well as forklifts and material handling equipment. The setting emphasizes 5S principles, with a strong focus on organization, cleanliness, and safety. Work may involve standing for extended periods, handling aluminum and other structural materials, and performing detailed mechanical and structural assembly tasks in a shop or warehouse setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Long Beach, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
