Job DescriptionInbound Receiving Planner / Coordinator Job Description The Inbound Receiving Planner / Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and optimizing the receipt of goods and materials into a busy distribution center. This role works closely with suppliers, logistics teams, and internal departments to ensure that inbound shipments are scheduled, received, and processed accurately and efficiently. The position combines hands-on warehouse activities with planning, documentation, and system-based inventory control to support smooth warehouse operations. Responsibilities • Coordinate and optimize the inbound receiving process for goods and materials into the distribution center., • Manage daily communication with suppliers to plan and confirm inbound shipment schedules., • Align receiving activities with purchasing and inventory needs to ensure product availability and proper stock levels., • Use warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP systems to schedule, track, and record inbound shipments., • Ensure accurate shipment records and maintain organized documentation to support auditing and compliance requirements., • Perform data entry and use computer systems, including SAP and Microsoft tools, to update inventory and receiving information., • Handle materials safely and efficiently, including unloading trucks and moving pallets within the warehouse., • Operate RF scanners and RF scan guns to receive, pick, and track inventory in real time., • Support shipping and receiving functions, including labelling, packaging, and palletizing products., • Perform warehouse inventory tasks such as stocking, cycle counts, inventory control, and general warehouse operations., • Pull and pick orders as needed to support overall warehouse distribution activities., • Participate in kitting, general production, and other value-added services related to inbound materials., • Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment in a safe and compliant manner, as required., • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inbound receiving and warehouse operations., • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and throughput., • Enforce and follow safety protocols and best practices to maintain a secure and efficient operation., • Perform heavy lifting of up to 25 lbs as part of daily receiving and material handling duties., • Collaborate with logistics and internal teams to resolve receiving discrepancies, shipment issues, and inventory variances., • Experience in inbound receiving within a warehouse or distribution center environment., • Strong knowledge of logistics processes and inventory control principles., • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP systems., • Ability to use RF scanners and RF scan guns for receiving, picking, and inventory tracking., • Proficiency with computer skills and data entry, including use of Microsoft tools., • Experience working with SAP or similar enterprise systems., • Hands-on experience with shipping and receiving, including documentation and record keeping., • Material handling skills, including unloading trucks, palletizing, and stocking., • Ability to perform heavy lifting of up to 25 lbs safely and repeatedly., • Ability to perform cycle counts and maintain accurate warehouse inventory., • Understanding of warehouse operations, distribution processes, and order pulling., • Ability to operate a forklift and other warehouse equipment, where required., • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and inventory records., • Ability to monitor KPIs and support process improvements. Work Environment This position is based in a warehouse distribution environment that is non–climate-controlled, so temperatures may vary with the seasons. The role involves regular material handling, heavy lifting up to 25 lbs, unloading trucks, moving pallets, and operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts and RF scanners. Work is performed around active warehouse operations, including palletizing, stocking, picking, and general production activities. Appropriate safety gear is required, including steel-toe footwear, and team members are expected to follow all safety procedures while working among trucks, pallets, and other material handling equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Prairie, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
