Job Description JOB SUMMARY The primary responsibility of the Bull Cook is to assist the Head Cook with the entire daily operation of the facility including, but not limited to, prep work in the kitchen, preparing salad bars, kitchen cleaning, dishwashing and completing housekeeping and janitorial duties. Performs in accordance with K3 mission, vision, values, and performance standards while providing best-in-class service to all our clients and guests. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • One to two year(s) of cooking experience in high volume production, • General culinary knowledge and knife skills., • General cleaning and janitorial knowledge, • Current Alaska Food Worker Card, • Able to proficiently speak, read, understand, and write English, • Must pass a pre-employment background screening with satisfactory results., • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening with satisfactory results obtained., • Degree in Culinary Arts or certification from an accredited culinary institute., • Computer Literacy, • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.), • High school diploma or equivalent, • Previous remote site camp experience and/or related area ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Any one position may not include all duties listed nor do the listed examples include all duties which may be found in the position.) • Coordinates the action plan for meal hours with the Head Cook or delegate., • Responsible for opening duties in the kitchen based on a schedule provided., • Oversees designated meal preparation and plans for the next day prepping., • Open lines and work lines and oversees shut down of the line., • Ensures that all meals produced meet or exceed food quality and safety standards., • Ensures that all food specifications and presentations are adhered to during meal hours., • Prepares ingredients to use in cooking (chopping, peeling vegetables, cutting meat, etc.)., • Ensures that all food and other items are stocked properly, assists with the monitoring of inventory counts., • Prepares sandwiches, vegetables, items for salad bar, breakfast items, soups, sauces, etc., • Cleans and organizes the kitchen coolers, freezers and dry storages as directed., • Cleans workspace surfaces, appliances, food related equipment., • Maintains basic kitchen appliance maintenance: cleaning vents, exhaust areas., • Adheres to HACCP, upholds The K3 Group’s safety policies and practices are being followed., • Submits timely product orders., • Conducts daily reports and sends out for review., • Reports to Head Cook concerning all issues related to food and equipment and staff., • Assists with freight, including loading and unloading freight into designated areas., • Assist in the dining room – wipes down tables, restocks napkins and condiments., • Collect and take out trash to designated areas., • Refill ice and drink machines and stock other self-service equipment., • Assists with the sanitation of floors, clutters and spills, including sweeping and mopping of floors., • Participates in pre-shift Tool Box meetings or other meetings as coordinated., • Performs walk throughs of all work stations., • May assist with janitorial and housekeeping duties including but not limited to scrubbing toilets, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, wiping down walls, baseboards, doorknobs, counter surfaces, collecting soiled laundry, washing laundry, making beds, restocking toiletries, etc., • Performs other duties assigned. WORKING ENVIRONMENT The employee will be required to live and work in a remote and confined workspace for extended periods of time and exposure to work assignments consisting of a rotational schedule. The length of a shift, and the length of the rotation period can vary. The ability to work day or night shifts are required. Much of the work is performed in a remote setting with a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities and abilities. Must be able to travel in all means of air and ground transportation commonly used in remote work settings. Exposure to cleaning chemicals and solutions and must wear proper PPE. Employee is required to wear designated and appropriate uniform and must wear non-slip shoes during their shift.
