This opportunity is a full-time exempt position at the Meadows, which will last approximately 5-6 months. There is a possibility of converting to a permanent employee. Position Summary: Responsible for overall organization and effectiveness of the Transportation Services Department; including selecting, training and supervising staff; scheduling resident trips; implementing training; and managing vehicle maintenance programs. The Transportation Services Manager oversees transportation at St. John’s Home, St. John’s Meadows, Brickstone by St. John’s and the Penfield Greenhouse Homes. Qualifications & Education Required: • High School Graduate or equivalent is required., • Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management or related preferred but not required., • Valid NYS CDL, • Clean Motor Vehicle Record, • Provide outstanding customer service to all residents, guests, volunteers, employees., • Arrive on time, prepared to work., • Proficient in Microsoft Office., • Perform daily vehicle safety inspections., • Knowledge of preventive maintenance on vehicles and perform vehicle safety inspections., • Ability to navigate within the Greater Rochester area., • Knowledge of wheelchair securement. Position Responsibilities: • Responsible for a consistently safe, courteous and reliable transportation experience., • Process all resident transportation requests., • Work collaboratively with department heads to meet their transportation needs., • Recruit, interview, train, supervise and evaluate all transportation staff., • Schedule all transportation staff., • Approve and maintain payroll for transportation staff., • Yearly department budget planning and maintaining fiscal responsibility., • Provide all in-service training and continuing education for St. John’s authorized drivers., • Create, maintain and update departmental policies and procedures., • Conduct monthly transportation staff meetings., • Insure all licenses, registrations, inspections, insurances and mandatories are up to date., • Manage and coordinate all vehicle fleet maintenance, preventative maintenance schedules and vehicle cleaning., • Conduct periodic vehicle and driver safety checks, • Identify need for new vehicle(s) to include price quotes and purchasing, • Fill in for staff as a driver when necessary., • All other tasks assigned by management. Physical Requirements: • Moderate physical demands include walking, climbing stairs, visual and auditory acuity. Ability to lift, pull or push up to 50 pounds. Exposure to Conditions:
