If you're driven, detail-oriented, and ready to grow with an elite organization, we want to meet you. *Sign-On Bonus/Moving Allowance Available – Amount Based on Experience and Certification Level (work commitment required) *Weekly overtime available (48 hour schedule) Job Summary: The RN critical care ground transport will demonstrate advanced critical thinking capabilities in working autonomously and in collaboration with other health care providers in the delivery of care to critically ill patients in diverse and non-traditional settings. Job Description: Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the following age groups: neonatal (0-29 days) not requiring isolette, pediatric, and adult. All ground transport medical crew members may be subject to certain work conditions while functioning in the full capacity of their position. These work conditions include but are not limited to: • Performance of essential job responsibilities in a moving ground ambulance as well as the potential to do so in an outdoor environment (inclement weather, extremes of temperature, etc.), • Exposure to noise, vibration of ground ambulance, • Exposure to patients with known or unknown infectious disease in an enclosed space, • Operate the transport equipment (within scope of practice) effectively, • Check functioning and safety of all equipment, • Uses supplies efficiently and replaces supplies when needed and/or after each call, • Cleans front and back of ambulance after each call and/or before ending shift, • Completes patient care reports correctly and in a timely manner as educated and directed according to AMT standard practice Assess: Performs appropriate assessment of physical, social and psychological status (including cognitive, communicative and developmental skills as appropriate). Seeks and evaluates information acquired from patient record and other members of interdisciplinary team: referring healthcare provider, patient, family, physician(s), non-nursing disciplines, support staff, others. Plan: Uses assessment information and independent critical thinking skills to autonomously and collaboratively develop individualized plan of care. Actively seeks patient, family, team, and physician involvement to develop plans of care including needed education. Coordinates and effectively communicates decision-making process and plan for patient care with team members and other health care providers, where possible and appropriate. Prepares patients for further support at receiving facilities. Implement: Directs medical care via delegation, coordination, and collaboration as appropriate. Provides or delegates care consistent with plan of care, guidelines of care and professional licensure provisions. Demonstrates the ability to set priorities and to coordinate and organize patient care delivery through effectively managing time, supplies, and resources. Selects and administers the appropriate medications and calculates correct dosage based on physical findings. Evaluate: Evaluates patient response to interventions through review of achievement of goals, clinical outcomes, patient and family satisfaction. Revises plan of care as indicated and reassesses changes as appropriate. Professionalism: Promotes nursing profession and education and actively participates in development of self and others. Integrates legal and ethical standards into practice; complies with regulatory standards (ID BON regulations, State EMS statutes, and CLIA). Practices within scope of licensure and service line policies, procedures, and patient care guidelines. Provides accurate & timely documentation; and understands legal implications of care delivery. Evaluates transports according to departmental Quality Management criteria and guidelines. Minimum Qualifications: Current RN License in Idaho or plan to complete prior to hire - and - BLS Certification for healthcare providers - and - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - and - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - and - Current valid/unrestricted driver's license in state of residence - and - Three years' experience Critical Care (Adult or Pediatric)/Emergency Department and/or High-volume Obstetric unit • and – • Must be able to communicate effectively and able to follow written and verbal directions, • Able to transfer and position patients independently and safely, • Understands position may require exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, radiation, and other conditions, • Able to work irregular hours under high stress conditions, • Certification(s) as appropriate to area(s) of practice (i.e. Neonatal Resuscitation [NRP]), • Advanced certification (CCRN, CFRN, CEN, CTRN, ect.). Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies - and - Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations. - and - Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc. - and - Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items. - and - Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc). - and - May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period. - and - Must be able to perform duties in an indoor or outdoor environment. Able to pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment or deployment.
