Job Description Job Description Date 09/2024 Location 1300 Airport Road, North Brunswick NJ Title Clerk, Shipping & Receiving Department Warehouse Reports to Manager, Warehouse FLSA (Exempt or Non-Exempt Non-Exempt Role Overview The Shipping and Receiving Clerk's primary responsibility is to Ship & receive, store, and distribute material and products within the Warehouse & to customers. The shipping and receiving clerk will also be responsible for ensuring that all shipping documents are completed accurately and in a timely fashion in conjunction with other assigned office functions. Areas of Responsibility • Follow batch records, SOP’s, and cGMP's guidelines to ensure product specifications and tolerances are met., • Ensures full compliance with Company policies, procedures, GMP’s, Ethical Business Practice, and SOP’s at all times. Ensures documentation such as operation logs, batch records, etc. are fully completed, signed and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements., • Assist shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders & shipping documents are accurate., • Reading customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped., • Systematically verifying all Supplier P.O.’s/Customer are completed shipped/ received during and by the end of workday., • Answering phone calls relating to checker P.O.’s and other various receiving related circumstances/customer service., • Reporting all issues to management and Department Lead to be re-verified i.e., P.O. discrepancies, systematic discrepancies etc., • Moving materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas., • Sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code., • Filling requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials or other stock items and distributes items to shipping or to designated route driver storage area., • Ensuring warehouse is accessible and safe for associates and customer traffic., • Assembling customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves or relocating orders to a holding area or shipping department., • Marking materials with identifying information using appropriate method., • Recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed via , Excel or Word, • Assisting in counting of physical inventory., • Weighing and counting items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards., • *Completing requisition forms to order supplies from other departments., • Preparing parcels for mailing., • Organizing warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times., • Fill in appropriate logbooks for equipment and rooms., • Perform all material handling of products and components., • Correctly document all steps on batch record., • Maintain proper gowning and hygiene to ensure integrity of the product as per company policies., • Works extended hours and occasional weekend overtime., • Works in a safe and responsible manner to create an injury-free and incident-free workplace., • Complies with all job-related safety and other training requirements. Education & Qualification: • High school graduate or GED equivalent, • 2+ years in warehouse environment (shipping & receiving), • Demonstrates ability to work in a team and assist others., • Able to follow written instructions precisely and perform basic math calculations as required., • Understands and is knowledgeable of cGMP, OSHA standards etc., • Mechanically inclined to understand inner workings of equipment., • Demonstrates the ability to read and write basic English in order to be able to understand the industry regulated instruction sheets., • Prior forklift driving and ticketing experience helpful, • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, • Strong organizational skills and an attention to detail required., • Must stand and walk on the production floor (work with floor team), • Uses hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects or controls, lifting to waist height and/or above shoulder height, frequent bending from the waist, or squatting, walking short distances., • Work is regularly performed inside a manufacturing / warehouse environment where temperatures can be moderate, exposure to dust, odors, noise, and fumes. The noise level is usually moderate. Employees can be exposed daily to chemicals and cleaning agents.
