Job Description Job Title: Vessel Welder Job Description We are seeking skilled vessel welders to join our team. You will be responsible for welding on storage tanks, spheres, and water towers ranging from 23ft to 43ft. Your expertise will be required to use stick and flux core methods to weld vessels and components for tanks. You'll utilize stick welding about 20% of the time, with flux core and some MIG as the primary techniques. Welding will be performed on carbon steel up to 3 inches thick, and candidates must be proficient in back gouging as these are 100% x-ray welds. Responsibilities • Perform welding on storage tanks, spheres, and water towers using stick and flux core methods., • Weld carbon steel up to 3 inches thick, ensuring 100% x-ray quality., • Utilize back gouging techniques effectively., • Operate an overhead crane safely and efficiently., • 3+ years of experience as a vessel welder., • Proficiency in flux core and stick welding., • Ability to pass 2G and 3G weld tests and back gouge., • Experience with vessel components., • Any fitting experience is a plus., • Experience fabricating storage tanks, vessels, and towers., • Ability to read prints and work with isometric drawings., • Experience with own layouts and fit-ups. This position offers a long-term opportunity in a very safe shop environment. Employees benefit from a structured shift rotation and a $2.00 shift differential when working the night shift. Work Environment The work takes place in a large, non-climate-controlled shop with a high priority on safety due to the presence of heavy equipment. The initial schedule is a day shift from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with Saturdays as needed. After six months, the shift rotates to night shift from 4:15 p.m. to 2:45 a.m., Monday through Friday, for 2-4 months, followed by a return to the day shift. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX 77064. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $27.50/hr.
