Job Title: Accounting Bookkeeper Job Status: Full-time, non-exempt Job Location: Waco, TX Job Summary:The primary function of the Bookkeeper is to support the mission and vision of Unbound Now by keeping accurate records of incoming and outgoing payments to the organization. The Bookkeeper will handle general ledger bookkeeping, process payment requests, and manage user access and training for Unbound Nows expense management software. Compensation: Annual salary commensurate with experience Benefits:Unbound Now offers a generous benefits package, including health insurance for employees and families with premiums covered by the employer; employer-paid life insurance for employees; and the option to participate in Unbound Now's retirement plan (with 3% salary match after 90 days with a 1-year vesting period). Dental and Vision are available at employee expense. Schedule/Availability: 8:30 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. CST, Monday through Friday, with a one-hour lunch break. Overtime only with prior supervisor approval. Working conditions: Work is performed in a normal office environment or other professional environment. Work duties may occasionally be performed in an environment that requires exposure to weather extremes, fumes, odors, and noise. Travel: This position will require regular local travel for picking up mail and occasional bank transactions. Mileage reimbursed at IRS standard rate. Job Responsibilities: • Maintain up-to-date general ledger bookkeeping, • Manage the Ramp credit card system, including users, coding, and syncing to the Sage Intacct accounting system., • Process payment requests, • Work with the Grant Accountant to properly allocate and document payables, • Pick up/deliver local mail, or scan documents and email other recipients, • Deposit receivables delivered by mail to the bank and maintain supporting documents, • Onboard and train employees on the use of the Alliance mobile deposits, • Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor information, including W-9s, and run vendor checks on the System for Award Management, documenting results, • Class grant-reimbursable expenses by the grant fund, • Record in-kind activities in accounting software, • Enter/verify proper coding to income accounts and attach supporting documents in the accounting system, • Manage quarterly sales tax filings/payments, • Assist with annual audit preparation and support Form 990 reporting as needed, • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial reporting requirements, • Other duties as necessary to support Unbound Nows financial responsibilities. *This position description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee. Desired Outcomes: • Credit card expenses are properly and timely recorded, coded, and approved, • Accurate and timely payment of expenditures, • Timely deposits of donations and retrievability of supporting documentation Working Relationships: Supervisor: Finance Manager Works with: Unbound Now Office Operations staff, Grant Accountant, Government Grant Managers, and CRM Specialist Education and Experience: • Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered, • 13 years bookkeeping or accounting experience (nonprofit financial management preferred), • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and familiarity with accounting software such as Sage Intacct, • Bookkeeping or accounting certification preferred (optional) Job Requirements: • Mature Christian Faith, as evidenced by participation in a local Christian church, • Thorough commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Unbound Now, • Three references (supervisor, professional, personal), • Agree to and pass all required criminal background checks, including the DFPS criminal history check and the abuse and neglect registry check, • Pass employment eligibility verification, • Abide by all Unbound Now policies and procedures at all times, including Unbound Nows Abuse Prevention and Response Policy, • Detail-oriented, • Highly responsible, • Strong work ethic and an Innovative problem solver, • Able to work effectively in collaboration with others, • Hope-filled, reflecting a positive attitude, • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, • Responsive, solutions-focused, and service-oriented, • Communicate with grace and empathy to colleagues who often work in highly emotional conditions, • Proficiency with, or ability to learn quickly, Unbound Nows accounting software, Sage Intacct, • Ability to work independently, • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, • Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information and the secure handling of financial records and sensitive donor information, • Willingness to use personal vehicle for work travel; valid drivers license, reliable vehicle, with valid car insurance, • Submit expense documentation properly and within required time frames per the company expense policy, and follow all Ramp Monthly Closeout Instructions and Process, • Submit travel reimbursements daily, adhering to all travel guidelines, • Complete all Unbound Now required training on time Physical Requirements: • Demands include sitting for long periods at a computer, repetitive hand motions from frequent keyboarding, • Demands frequently require close visual attention, • Demands frequently require prolonged mental concentration, • Demands frequent video calls, • Ability to drive personal vehicles and maintain proper insurance coverage
