🔍 Job Summary: The Emotional Intelligence Officer Instructor is responsible for teaching and training individuals to become certified Emotional Intelligence Officers. These officers are trained to respond to emotional crises, support mental health needs in schools, communities, and public spaces, and promote emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and non-violent communication. The instructor will deliver structured lessons using provided materials, lead practical scenarios and role-plays, and evaluate student performance and understanding. 🎯 Key Responsibilities: Teach students the foundational principles of emotional intelligence (self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, motivation, social skills). Train students to become field-ready Emotional Intelligence Officers equipped to de-escalate emotional crises and support community members. Follow the EI-ERASU training curriculum and adapt lesson plans as needed. Facilitate interactive role-play sessions and real-life case study discussions. Assess student understanding through quizzes, discussions, and practical evaluations. Promote a safe, respectful, and emotionally engaging learning environment. Prepare students for certification or graduation from the program. Maintain attendance records and provide performance feedback to management. 📘 Qualifications: Experience in one or more of the following: teaching, psychology, social work, crisis response, counseling, community outreach, or education. Strong understanding of emotional intelligence principles. Prior experience in training, coaching, or leading workshops (preferred). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The Program Director is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the program, ensuring quality service delivery, and supervising staff in collaboration with the Clinical Director. This role focuses on maintaining compliance with program policies, implementing best practices, and enhancing client care. Program director is responsible for the overall management and administrative operations of an OASAS Part 822 treatment program. The Program Director must have supervisory experience. Responsibilities: Work under the Clinical Director to implement program policies, procedures, and protocols. Provide direct supervision to Case Managers, Client Care Coordinators, and other program staff, ensuring effective service delivery. Oversee the substance use treatment and recovery support services, ensuring alignment with Evidence-Based Practices (EBP) such as Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Trauma-Informed Care (TIC). Ensure all client services comply with regulatory requirements and organizational standards. Monitor and support staff in case management, crisis intervention, and discharge planning. Develop and implement strategies to enhance service quality, client engagement, and program outcomes. Review and ensure accurate documentation of client records, treatment plans, and progress notes. Collaborate with community agencies, healthcare providers, and referral sources to ensure seamless client care. Monitor program outcomes, prepare reports, and provide data analysis to measure effectiveness. Assist in incident management and crisis response, ensuring staff adhere to safety protocols. Participate in audits, compliance reviews, and quality improvement initiatives. Interview, hire, train, appraise, evaluate, discipline/terminate subordinate staff. Oversee monthly reporting, including to OASAS, executive management, STARS, legal references, and more. Manage comprehensive training needs of clinical and administrative staff. Build relationships with outside entities to increase referrals. Implement strategic plan for program growth. Ensure that all program staff upholds the agency's Code of Conduct/Code of Ethics and comply with all Federal, state and local law/regulation, including confidentiality and HIPAA privacy/security regulations. Lead weekly interdisciplinary team meetings/case conferences/QI. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a behavioral health, substance use, or social services setting. Experience in substance use treatment, mental health services, and supportive housing programs. Knowledge of clinical case management, discharge planning, and crisis intervention techniques. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to train and mentor staff in Evidence-Based Practices (EBP). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Currently hold a LMHC license in good standing. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. About the Program: The Compassionate Emergency Support Unit (CESU) is a first-of-its-kind training program designed to equip community members, students, and volunteers with emotional intelligence and crisis response skills. Our mission is to build a team of care response officers who can respond to community issues with empathy, de-escalation, and compassionate leadership. Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated CESU Instructor to deliver engaging, structured training sessions 3 times a week (1 hour per day). The instructor will guide participants through emotional intelligence topics, crisis response scenarios, and compassionate leadership lessons. This role is ideal for someone with a background in teaching, counseling, social work, public safety, or emotional intelligence coaching.
