Job DescriptionDescription: Job Overview The Program Manager is responsible for managing the enhancement and implementation of program systems and procedures for all AVANCE-Austin programs, to ensure its effective operation in accordance with AVANCE standards and policies. This position also assists in providing supervision and mentorship and oversees the optimal delivery of services by the program staff of the adult/parenting education services. The provision of all services will focus on promoting the educational and economic success of the parents that in turn will promote the child’s overall growth and development. Job Responsibilities • Assists with the identification and recruitment of families who are interested in pursuing parenting and early childhood education, with recruitment efforts including collaboration with schools and community agencies., • Hires and directly supervises Program/Home Education team and assists with hiring of other program staff including but not limited to contract part time or ECE program staff., • Establishes and maintains on-going communication with Director, Coordinator, Program staff, parents and local partners to assess and meet the needs of program participants., • Serve as primary logistical contact for all two Gen Programing with partners and oversee program recruitment, retention and ongoing program delivery., • Manages the strategic program outreach and recruitment process for all programs., • Ensures that program staff are maintaining accurate client enrollment files, program data and attendance in database and conducts periodic audits., • Gathers and collects student data and other program measures for grant reporting purposes., • Utilizes program quality assessment tools to regularly observe and provide feedback to staff on an on-going basis and provides training and professional development for improvement in these areas., • Assist in the development and provision of trainings, methods, educational materials, and tools to enhance Parent/Home Educators’ ability to assess and document the families’ interests, strengths and needs, and guidance in establishing and monitoring of family goals and the development., • Monitor the progress of Home Educators to ensure that each family’s needs are assessed that all identified concerns receive appropriate follow-up to resolution, and that program goals and objectives are met by conducting on-site observations and file reviews., • Assist in the development and implementation of a comprehensive tracking system to continuously monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods, referrals, and all other content area procedures., • Manages and coordinates community partners for Resource Access Hour to enhance the delivery of wide array of services to AVANCE families., • Serve as program lead on recruitment, orientation, volunteers, scheduling and assigning projects of student volunteers/interns., • Attends all required training, webinars, conference calls and meetings as requested., • Participates in meetings and briefings as a contributing member of the Program leadership team., • Attend local, regional and national training activities as assigned., • Assist with organizing and planning for special events, ex. Travel • Ability to travel to various sites: Dependable transportation is required daily with a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record (subject to annual MVR (Motor Vehicle Report) check and policy), current auto liability insurance and be bondable by AVANCE, Inc., • This position can require up to 15% of local travel. The Program Manager will conduct travel to and from partner and AVANCE Austin sites as required. Working Conditions • Work is generally performed in a virtual/hybrid work environment (home, on site, off site)., • Noise level in the work environment is moderate to occasionally loud (examples: business office with computers and printers, light to moderate traffic, human voices)., • Standard office equipment generally used includes:, • Telephone, • Personal Computer (monitor, keyboard, and mouse) or Tablet, • Printer/Photocopy Machine, • Calculator, • May be required to operate a motor vehicle during the course of duties. Mental and Physical Demands Maintain emotional control under stress; work with interruptions and deadlines; walking, standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; occasional: lifting/carrying, pulling/pushing 10-30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Environmental Factors Occasional exposure to: biological hazards (communicable diseases, bacteria, insects, mold, fungi, etc.). Occasional expose to weather related conditions when working in outside environment/neighborhoods and events.
