A statewide search, with a focus on Southern California, is currently underway for a legal professional to join the City of Thousand Oaks as an Assistant City Attorney. Specific municipal legal experience as a generalist in at least two or three of the following areas will be advantageous: code enforcement, human resource-related matters (i.e. employee relations, grievances, investigations/discipline), Public Records Act, Public Contracts Code, and Political Reform Act. Land use and real estate legal experience will be an added plus for top candidates. This position reports to the City Attorney. Requires Juris Doctorate degree, and 7 years of experience in the practice of municipal/government law in California. Current membership in the State Bar of California is required. The City is prepared to offer a salary in the range of $177,952.32 to $266,928.69 annually, DOQ. City Hall operates on a 9/80 schedule.
