Job DescriptionLicensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Med/Surg & Emergency Department Location: Syracuse, New York Shift: Days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) Schedule: Every other weekend and some holidays Position Overview We are seeking experienced Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for Med/Surg and Emergency Department units in an acute care hospital setting. Unit placement will be determined based on prior experience. The LPN will provide high-quality patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse and physicians while supporting clinical and operational functions of the nursing unit. Required Qualifications * Current New York State LPN License * CPR certification (or ability to obtain/re-certify) * Minimum of 1 year of LPN experience * Ability to function in an acute care setting with minimal orientation and supervision * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Highly Preferred Qualifications * Inpatient hospital experience (1+ year) * Phlebotomy experience * IV insertion experience * EKG application experience * Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care Duties * Perform the majority of patient care functions required in an acute care setting * Greet patients and prepare them for examination * Take and document vital signs * Measure and record patient progress * Assist physicians during examinations and procedures * Set up trays and equipment for injections and procedures * Administer injections * Assist with PAP smears and other clinical procedures * Implement nursing care activities under the direction of the primary or associate nurse as outlined in the nursing care plan * Observe, document, and report patient responses to treatments Clinical & Administrative Support * Prepare and maintain exam rooms and clinical areas * Assist with reception, appointment scheduling, filing, and chart preparation * Obtain insurance authorizations (physical therapy, MRIs, CT scans, surgeries, etc.) * Coordinate referrals with primary care physicians * Maintain accurate documentation in EMR systems For more details reach at or Call / Text at 516-862-1203.
