Job Description Mikva Challenge is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization whose mission is to develop youth to be engaged, informed, and active citizens and community members who will promote a just and equitable society. This role is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with educators, district partners, and local stakeholders while supporting high-quality program delivery that reflects Mikva’s mission and values. The Partner Site Director ensures all programming aligns with Mikva’s strategic plan and theory of change, helping schools and community partners foster youth voice, leadership, and civic engagement. Working under the strategic direction of both the partner and the Senior Director, the Partner Site Director manages site-level programming, communications, and district-level relationship cultivation. This is a hands-on role that combines facilitation, partnership management, and program coordination to advance Mikva Challenge’s goal of empowering young people across the region to become informed, active participants in their communities. OFFICE LOCATION: This is a hybrid position, working both in-person with assigned partner sites and remotely, engaging with staff and stakeholders through virtual platforms. Preference will be given to candidates based in the New York-New Jersey-Connecticut (tri-state) area. This position is not eligible for paid relocation. SCHEDULE: Full-Time REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Partner Sites TRAVEL: Up to 15% travel required CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Program Implementation & Support • Manage the delivery of Mikva programming at assigned partner sites, ensuring activities align with organizational goals and site-specific needs., • Collaborate with site educators and instructional leads to adapt and deliver multi-year civic learning strategies, including but not limited to:, • Coordinate and staff virtual and/or in-person student voice events and other site based or regional activities, • Facilitate educator professional learning sessions, • Lead leadership development experiences for students, • Provide coaching and technical assistance to teachers and instructional leads, including modeling lessons and connecting classrooms with local civic resources, • Create, organize, and share resources for classroom teachers, • Collect and submit required program data to the Evaluations team and use the findings to inform ongoing programmatic initiatives and improvements. Relationship Management • Build and maintain relationships with key site stakeholders, including teachers, students, district personnel, funders, and community partners., • Serve as a primary point of contact for day-to-day communications with assigned partner sites., • Coordinate with Mikva’s Communications team to share success stories and highlight program impact., • Partner with the Senior Director and internal teams (Communications, Evaluation, Development) to support site sustainability and visibility., • Contribute to cross-departmental planning, logistics, and execution for organization-wide events such as Soapbox Nation and the National Youth Summit., • Advance Mikva’s commitment to racial justice and equity through programming and partnerships. REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Public Policy, Social Work, or related field preferred. EXPERIENCE: 3–5 years of experience in education, youth development, program coordination/management, or a related field. COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS • Highly organized, motivated, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously., • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to connect and build relationships authentically with students, educators, and partners., • Demonstrated adaptability and ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team., • Proven skills in project management, scheduling, attention to detail, and data tracking or reporting., • Strong relationship-building and partnership cultivation skills to engage a diverse range of existing and potential stakeholders., • Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, and able to problem-solve in dynamic environments., • Proficient in digital tools and data management systems, including Google workspace, Microsoft Office/365, and cloud-based collaboration platforms.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, • Experience in youth civic engagement, education, or community-based program management., • Experience facilitating professional learning for educators or leadership development for youth., • Experience planning and executing virtual and in-person events with large groups of participants., • Experience coordinating across departments and partner organizations to achieve shared goals.REGIONAL QUALIFICATIONS – New York City Public Schools, • Familiarity with the New York City Public Schools system and civic education landscape., • Understanding of local education policies, government structures, and community partnerships., • Experience navigating complex, multi-stakeholder environments across schools, nonprofits, and local government., • Established relationships within the NYC civic or education community are a plus. The salary range for this NY-based position is $75,000 to $85,000 annually commensurate with experience.
