Job DescriptionDescription: Location: Utica, NY Job Type: Full-Time About Us Omni Surgery Center is a state-of-the-art AAAHC-accredited Ambulatory Surgery Center specializing in orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, and interventional pain management. Our mission is to deliver exceptional, patient-centered surgical care in a safe, efficient, and compassionate environment. Position Summary We are seeking an experienced registered nurse. Duties include but are not limited to day-to-day nursing operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, maintaining high-quality patient care, and fostering a positive, collaborative work environment. This role requires strong clinical expertise, and the ability to work with a multidisciplinary surgical team. Key Responsibilities Patient Assessment & Preparation • Perform comprehensive nursing assessment (history, allergies, medications, NPO status)., • Verify informed consent is signed and matches procedure., • Confirm site marking and conduct pre-op checklist., • Review labs, diagnostics, and medical clearance., • Start IV lines and administer pre-op medications., • Educate patients and family about procedure and post-op expectations., • Assess fall risk, infection risk, and anesthesia risk., • Post op recovery of patients, • Follow infection control protocols., • Participate in QI studies under the direction of the QI director., • Maintain current NYS RN license, • Serve as patient advocate while under anesthesia., • Perform surgical time-out verification., • Maintain sterile field integrity., • Conduct instruments, sponge, and needle counts with scrub tech as needed., • Document intraoperative events in real time., • Monitor patient positioning to prevent injury., • Coordinate with surgeon and anesthesia provider., • Manage specimens (labeling and transport).Requirements: Qualifications Required: • Current RN license in the State of New York., • Preferred:, • Experience in orthopedic, neurosurgical, and pain management procedures., • Knowledge of AAAHC, CMS, and NYS DOH regulatory requirements., • Minimum 3–5 years of perioperative nursing experience in an ASC or hospital surgical setting., • BLS and ACLS certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).
