Position Summary The General Manager will serve as the senior operational leader for the organization, with full responsibility for day-to-day operations, financial performance, workforce leadership, customer satisfaction, and strategic growth initiatives. Reporting directly to ownership this individual will lead a multi-division business spanning service, installation, construction, maintenance, and administrative functions. The ideal candidate is a hands-on business leader with a strong background in service and construction operations, P&L management, team development, and organizational growth. This role requires a balance of strategic leadership and operational execution to drive profitability, efficiency, accountability, and an exceptional customer experience. The General Manager will partner closely with ownership and stakeholders to execute strategic initiatives, drive operational improvements, and support long-term growth objectives. Key Responsibilities: Operational Leadership • Provide overall leadership for all service, installation, construction, sales, and administrative functions., • Drive operational excellence through process improvement, accountability, and performance management., • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across all departments., • Ensure consistent execution of company policies, procedures, and customer service standards., • Lead workforce planning, staffing, and resource allocation efforts to maximize operational efficiency., • Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement across the organization. Financial Leadership • Maintain full accountability for company-wide profit and loss performance., • Develop and manage annual operating budgets, forecasts, and financial targets., • Analyze financial and operational performance metrics to identify opportunities for increased profitability., • Drive labor productivity, pricing strategy, margin improvement, and cost management initiatives., • Ensure accurate reporting and forecasting while maintaining strong financial discipline. Leadership & Talent Development • Lead, coach, and develop department leaders and managers., • Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement., • Establish clear performance expectations and development plans for leadership team members., • Partner with Human Resources on recruiting, retention, succession planning, and workforce development initiatives., • Foster employee engagement and create opportunities for career growth throughout the organization. Customer Experience • Champion a customer-first culture throughout the business., • Monitor customer satisfaction metrics and implement corrective actions when needed., • Develop strategies to improve customer retention and expand recurring revenue opportunities., • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, vendors, and strategic partners., • Ensure the organization consistently delivers high-quality service and project execution. Strategic Growth • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and execute growth strategies., • Support business development efforts across service, construction, and maintenance operations., • Evaluate operational scalability and infrastructure needs to support future growth., • Lead change management initiatives and organizational improvements., • Assist with integration efforts and operational alignment as the company continues to grow. Safety & Compliance • Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture throughout the organization., • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations., • Maintain high standards of operational quality, risk management, and regulatory compliance. Qualifications Required • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience within HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical services, construction, home services, or related skilled trades industries., • Proven success leading multi-department operations with full P&L responsibility., • Strong understanding of service operations, construction management, field workforce leadership, and operational performance metrics., • Demonstrated ability to lead leaders, develop teams, and drive organizational accountability., • Experience implementing operational improvements and managing change within a growing business., • Excellent communication, leadership, financial, and problem-solving skills. Preferred • Experience leading a multi-location service or construction organization., • Prior experience in a private equity-backed environment., • Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations, or rapid-growth initiatives., • Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
