Job Description BronxWorks helps individuals and families improve their economic and social well-being. RESPONSIBILITIES Instruction: • Offer engaging and informative classroom and field training on building science principles related to weatherization, including heat transfer, moisture control, ventilation, indoor air quality, and energy auditing techniques., • Train students in the use of diagnostic equipment (e.g., blower doors, infrared cameras, CO analyzers, duct blasters) and energy modeling software (e.g., NEAT and MHEA) for energy audits, inspections, and quality assurance assessments., • Administer Building Performance Institute (BPI) certification exams and ensure adherence to all guidelines., • Develop and revise training curriculum and materials, including current regulations, standards, and field guidance., • Provide technical assistance to weatherization network clients and other stakeholders on energy efficiency and home performance topics., • Research industry best practices to ensure training programs are current and relevant., • Foster relationships with other academic programs, industry leaders, and employers to enhance training programs and student placement., • Adhere to all safety standards and industry practices during training sessions and in the use of equipment., • Proven experience as a Building Science instructor or trainer, ideally with a focus on weatherization and energy efficiency programs., • Deep understanding of building science principles, energy auditing techniques, and weatherization materials and installation methods., • Familiarity with relevant regulations, codes, policies, and statutes governing weatherization and energy efficiency., • Possession and maintenance of Building Performance Institute (BPI) certifications (e.g., Building Analyst, Envelope Professional)., • Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation, and interpersonal skills., • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects., • Ability to work independently and as part of a team., • Proficient in the use of various diagnostic equipment and energy modeling software., • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, • Must be culturally sensitive and respectful of diverse backgrounds, self-motivated and able to handle sensitive client information confidentially., • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, etc.)EDUCATION, • High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced education or certifications in building science, construction, or related fields preferred., • Advanced-level professional competency in written and spoken English language is required., • Authorization to work in the United States is mandatory BronxWorks seeks to build an inclusive organization grounded in respect for differences.
