Key Responsibilities • Provide comprehensive clinical Cardiothoracic Surgery services, including but not limited to the following: VATs, Lobectomy's, thoracotomy, diaphragm plication, chest wall hernia repair, decortication, pleurectomy, chest tube management w/tPA. along with other complex Cardiothoracic surgery procedures., • Be present on time scheduled clinic start times as documented., • Provide notification of test results for patients receiving care in accordance with VHA Directive 1088, Communicating Test Results to Providers and Patients., • Follow all established medication policies and procedures. No sample medications shall be provided to patients., • Provide discharge education and follow up instructions that are coordinated with the next care setting for all emergency department patients., • Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and meetings with committee participation., • Complete the appropriate QM/PI documentation pertaining to all procedures, complications and outcome of examinations., • Follow all established patient safety and infection control standards of care.
