American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Omaha, Nebraska. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 12/15/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Work in a 34-bed Med Surg ICU within an acute, Level 1 trauma hospital, • Patient population includes adults and pediatric patients over 15 years, with cases involving neuro surgery, respiratory failure, ARDS, MODS, sepsis, stroke, cardiogenic shock, renal failure, general surgery, psych/OD, GI bleeds, cancer-related surgeries, and more, • Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:1-2 in ICU, 1:4-5 in PCU, 1:5-6 in Med Surg, • RNs are responsible for titrating drips including vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics, • Centralized telemetry monitoring using Draeger monitors requires RNs to read and interpret strips, • Uses Epic EMR, • 12-hour day shifts (6:30a-6:30p), • Required to work every other weekend, • Required to work every other or as needed holiday, • Floating required to all inpatient units except Maternity and NICU, • Scrub color is navy blue, • Responsibilities include the care and management of complex, high-acuity patients in a fast-paced setting, • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including attendings, fellows, residents, and student providers, • Charge nurse is present each shift and responds to RRTs and codes, • Support staff includes nurse aids/techs (1:18 ratio), • On-unit orientation includes 2 department-specific shifts plus a pass/fail, open-book exam requiring a score of 90%, • Artificial nails are prohibited for all patient care providers, • Personal time off limited to 7 days per 13-week contract; additional time off not approved, • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, • First-time travelers will be considered for this position\n \n Requirements\n, • Active NE or Compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted, • Minimum of 2 years current ICU experience required, • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (all must be active), • Must provide two professional references: one supervisor from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years, • Must be able to titrate multiple critical care drips, • Ability to read and interpret telemetry required, • Driver’s license required for verification of 50-mile radius, • Must not be currently or recently employed (within the last year) in any capacity by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
