Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 05/11/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Days, 3x12hrs, • Hours: 36 hrs/wk, • Start Date: May 11, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Acute care setting in a Med/Surg ICU unit at a Level I Trauma Center serving as the primary tertiary hospital for the system, • 34-bed unit serving adult and pediatric patients (15 years and older) with diagnoses including respiratory failure, ARDS, MODS, sepsis, stroke, cardiogenic shock, renal failure, GI bleeds, and cancer-specific surgeries, • Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:1–2 (ICU), 1:4–5 (PCU), and 1:5–6 (Med/Surg), • RNs are required to titrate drips including vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics, • Equipment used includes CVPs, A-lines, Swans, EV-1000, ICP monitoring, Zoll Thermoguard, BellMont rapid transfuser, and vents/CPAP/BiPAP/high-flow oxygen, • RNs must be able to independently read and interpret cardiac monitoring strips using Draeger heart monitoring with centralized telemetry (no monitor techs on unit), • Charting via Epic EMR, • 12-hour day shifts (0630–1830) and night shifts (1830–0630); schedule is manager-assigned based on unit needs, • Every other weekend required, • Holiday coverage required for 2 out of 3 major holidays, or every other, based on unit needs, • Floating required to all inpatient units excluding Maternity/NICU, • Charge nurse is present on each shift, attends RRTs and codes, and does not take a patient assignment, • Nurse aides/patient care techs available at a 1:18 ratioRequirements, • Active NE state or Compact (NLC) RN license required; pending licenses will not be accepted, • Active certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS; pending certifications will not be accepted, • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required, • Ability to read and interpret cardiac monitor strips required, • Driver's license required for consideration and used to verify residence is at least 50 miles from the facility, • Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire, • Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI or Dignity, within the past year (candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered)Additional Information, • Interview with unit leadership is required as part of the selection process, • Unit orientation consists of 2 unit/department-specific shifts, plus an open-book skills exam on the last day of orientation (Friday); a minimum score of 90% is required to pass — failure results in contract termination, • Navy blue scrubs required, • Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments; refusal to remove them will result in contract termination, • Fast-paced unit with volume fluctuations; successful candidates will demonstrate critical thinking, a positive attitude, willingness to collaborate, and comfort asking questions, • Team environment includes collaboration with attendings, fellows, and residents, • RTO must be submitted upfront; no more than 7 days per 13-week contract, and no additional RTO will be approved after the assignment begins With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
