American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 03/16/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Position is in a hospital progressive care unit (PCU) with an 18-plus bed telemetry environment, • Day shift position with 12-hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:00, three shifts per week, • Care for adult patients requiring telemetry monitoring in a fast-paced setting, • Floating to other departments or locations within 20 miles is required, • Epic EMR used; experience is preferred, • Provide safe, effective, and patient-centered care using the nursing process, • Directly assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, collaborating with patients, families, and the healthcare team, • Responsible for clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel, • Floating between departments and within a 20-mile radius required to meet staffing needs, • Holiday coverage may be required according to hospital policy, • Must wait one year after prior permanent employment in this health system to be considered as a traveler, • First day includes orientation and mandatory BCA testing, • Dress code and additional facility-specific details provided upon assignment, • No local candidates; must live more than 50 miles from the facility\n \n Requirements\n, • Active NM or compact state RN license required, • Minimum of two years current experience in a telemetry/progressive care unit with at least 18 beds, • Must have completed at least one prior 13-week travel assignment, • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required, • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required, both must be from the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross, • Must successfully pass onsite Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test during orientation (one retake allowed if failed initially); failure to pass will result in termination, • English language proficiency required (speak, read, write), • NIHSS certification preferred\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
