Job Description Job Title: CDL Driver (Class A) Job Description This position is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering materials to customers while strictly following DOT regulations and company safety standards. You will support transportation operations by inspecting equipment, securing cargo, maintaining accurate documentation, and providing professional customer service throughout the delivery process. Success in this role requires a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to operate equipment and handle materials in a fast-paced delivery environment. Responsibilities • Inspect and maintain mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment to ensure operational readiness and compliance with applicable regulations., • Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections before operating the truck., • Secure cargo properly for safe transport, including strapping, unstrapping, and managing rag side trailer functions as required., • Operate tractor trailers to safely deliver materials to customer locations in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies., • Follow all DOT regulations and company safety procedures during transit, loading, unloading, and delivery activities., • Load and unload materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment., • Maintain accurate logbooks and delivery documentation in accordance with DOT and company requirements., • Obtain delivery receipts, customer signatures, and payments when required, ensuring all paperwork is complete and accurate., • Provide professional customer service and maintain positive, respectful interactions with customers during deliveries., • Communicate any vehicle issues, safety concerns, or delivery challenges promptly to the appropriate internal contacts., • Adhere to all company policies related to safety, compliance, and operational procedures throughout each shift. Essential Skills • One to three years of recent commercial motor vehicle driving experience., • Current and valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)., • Demonstrated ability to operate tractor trailers safely and efficiently., • Ability to perform thorough vehicle inspections and identify potential mechanical or safety issues., • Ability to secure loads properly, including use of straps and other load-securing equipment., • Capability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and similar material-handling equipment., • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements., • Ability to maintain accurate logbooks and delivery documentation., • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to safety., • Professional communication and customer service skills.Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Lansing, MI.
