Job Description Overview Third Party Administrator, TIC Midwest, is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Payroll Auditor to join our Auditing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance with the fringe benefit provisions of our clients’ various collective bargaining agreements by performing audits of the payroll records of signatory contractors. This role requires an accounting background or training. HR background helpful. Duties • Conduct thorough audits of payroll data to verify accuracy and compliance with collective bargaining agreements and regulatory requirements., • Reconcile payroll accounts, including general ledger accounts related to payroll, benefits, and taxes., • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and debits & credits to ensure proper recording within financial software systems such as QuickBooks, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), and other accounting platforms., • Analyze payroll reports for discrepancies or irregularities., • Maintain detailed documentation of audit findings and prepare reports for management review., • Review tax filings related to payroll taxes; ensure adherence to governmental accounting standards. Requirements • Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks as well as payroll and HRIS management systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, UltiPro, PeopleSoft, Ceridian or similar platforms., • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)., • Strong knowledge of technical accounting principles including general ledger accounting, debits & credits, and journal entries., • Familiarity with financial concepts related to payroll processing, benefits administration, and governmental accounting standards is preferred., • Experience with account reconciliation processes involving accounts payable/receivable and general ledger reconciliation., • Understanding of tax regulations related to payroll taxes; ability to ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions., • Excellent analysis skills with the ability to identify discrepancies quickly and accurately interpret financial data., • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently within deadlines., • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
