Job Description We are seeking a skilled Heavy Haul Truck Driver to join our team for the Stibnite Mine Development Project in central Idaho. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience transporting heavy equipment and materials, ensuring safe and efficient delivery from Cascade, Idaho, to the Stibnite Mine. The route includes traveling over a paved mountain pass and along 60 miles of narrow, well-maintained dirt road. The Heavy Haul Truck Driver will report directly to the Logistics Coordinator. Key Responsibilities • Transport heavy equipment and materials from Cascade, Idaho, to the Stibnite Mine, ensuring safe and timely delivery., • Navigate a route that includes a paved mountain pass and 60 miles of narrow, well-maintained dirt road, requiring careful attention to road conditions and safety., • Secure loads properly to prevent shifting or damage during transport, adhering to all load securement regulations., • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to ensure they are in good working condition., • Maintain accurate driving logs, load details, and delivery schedules in compliance with transportation regulations., • Communicate effectively with the Logistics Coordinator and other team members to coordinate deliveries and address any issues that arise., • Adhere to all safety protocols, traffic laws, and company policies to ensure a safe working environment. Scope of Work The Heavy Haul Truck Driver will perform tasks critical to the Stibnite Mine Development Project, including: • Equipment and Material Transport: Safely transport heavy equipment (e.g., excavators, bulldozers) and construction materials (e.g., steel, concrete) from Cascade, Idaho, to the Stibnite Mine., • Load Securement: Ensure all loads are properly secured and balanced to prevent accidents or damage during transit., • Route Navigation: Drive through challenging terrain, including mountain passes and dirt roads, while maintaining control of the vehicle and load., • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on the truck and trailer to ensure reliability and safety., • Compliance: Follow all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including hours of service, weight limits, and permit requirements for oversized loads., • Communication: Provide regular updates on delivery status and report any delays or issues encountered during transport., • A minimum of five years of experience as a heavy haul truck driver, with a proven track record of transporting oversized and heavy loads., • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker and HAZMAT endorsements., • Experience navigating challenging routes, including mountain passes and dirt roads., • Strong knowledge of load securement techniques and regulations for heavy haul transportation., • Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and basic vehicle maintenance., • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently while following instructions., • Proficiency in handling emergencies, such as accidents or spills, with a focus on safety, environmental protection, and regulatory compliance., • Competitive hourly wage based on experience and qualifications, • Safety and completion bonus for meeting project milestones and safety standards, • Attractive company benefits, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off Living Arrangements The Heavy Haul Truck Driver will be based in Cascade, Idaho, and will receive a per diem to cover living expenses during the project if they are not local or cannot drive to Cascade within an hour. On occasions when the driver arrives at the Stibnite Mine too late to return to Cascade, they will stay at the project camp. During such stays, the driver must follow the camp's "dry" policy, which prohibits alcohol consumption, and will have access to meals, showers, and laundry services. Safety and Compliance The Stibnite Mine Development Project is a job site monitored by both OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration). All employees will receive comprehensive training to obtain the necessary certifications for their specific role, work location, and type of work. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires sitting for extended periods while driving, as well as standing, walking, bending, and climbing to inspect and secure loads. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 50 pounds and occasionally handle heavier items with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Additionally, the employee must have good night vision to safely operate the truck during low-light conditions, as some transport trips may occur after daylight hours.
